I absolutely loved this series! The experiment was well thought out and the note taking was on par with real academic studies. I nominate Jenny and Cookie to give a TED talk about cacti. 🌵🌵🌵

This warms my cactus loving heart. I know this series has a special audience. Omg, Can you imagine a TED talk by me and cookie? 😂😂😂

This series has it all including a fake ending and a twist 😂 The seedlings are looking so good since they've settled into their new transplanted situation! A lot easier to appreciate the variety when the cacti all have space to individually shine. Noticed at least several seedlings that turned out to be pretty neat looking. Hope you and Cookie are having a wonderful weekend!

@@PlantFun1 that's what keeps growing so interesting, the fun never ends! Who knew there would be such a huge plot twist! 😂😂😂 The best part is that I even tricked myself! These hybrids are so much fun, full of surprises. It makes me crave even more generic varieties...

I’m getting ready to sow some astrophytum seeds so getting a revised conclusion is amazing. I went exploring the internet and watched a Thai video about astrophytum seed sowing and wow I was blown away by how they do it. They leave the pot in a bag with water mixed with fungicide! I would have never guessed that they would do that.

I think I've seen some videos from Thai growers like that too! Someone once left a comment on a previous video that the components of the soil don't really matter, it's about water potential. I'm so excited about your new Astrophytum soon-to-be seedlings!

I share your sentiment about growing the Ariocarpus seedlings. I experience the same thing. Hopefully we can figure them out some day.

I'm kind of relieved that I'm not the only one. They remain forever a mystery. I guess the only way forward is to try again. If you ever find the key, do let me know! I'll be sure to share too.

Hi Jenny and Cookie! WOW! Nice volume of seedlings! Thanks for info, getting ready to sow, so now I know! How about a seed battle between Kelloggs and Miracle Grow?😂😅❤ !I use Kelloggs so I may do both K and MG. I'd love to see all the different varieties and characteristics from your seeds as well as the mutants in a future episode! Happy growing!

@@JamesEndoSanJoseCARealEstate1 these hybrids are so much fun, James! Ive heard good things about Kelloggs but never gave it a good try. If you do both K and MG can you let me know how it goes? I'm extremely curious too. I'll have to see if I get another strong inspiration to do another battle. It's just a lot of work to document 😂

What is your slow release fertilizer content in the mix and liquid fertilizer regimen? Maybe one of these could contribute to the ariocarpus issues? Too much or too little of something?
@laurenr8423 күн бұрын
Or maybe ph? Thought I’ve never tested mine
@cookiescactiКүн бұрын
I do add a fertilizer to the water, diluted to 1/10. I don't know what the pH is of the soils. All possibilities. I will try again!

Die off normal. So when you say Miracle Grow seed starter mix, is that the seed starter potting mix the green colored bag?
@cookiescactiКүн бұрын
Thanks for confirming the die off is normal. I think the starter is in a blue color bag. Perlite in a green color bag. They also have a peat moss product that might be in a green color bag. Do you have any luck growing Arios from seed?

I don't think ariocarpus like organic soil I used Phoenix soil with pumice when I lived in Phoenix.
@cookiescactiКүн бұрын
Maybe I can try pure inorganic next time. Did you have success growing them into maturity?
