I feel like it looks a bit CGI but obviously that's cuz it's CGI and this is a show without an infinitebudget. That said, everything looks more realistic if it's dirty and beat up than if it's shiny.

@@ukmaxi Yup someone actually wears one of those suits (with a less fancy paint job) in the game awards. I'm very curious if the actual power armour a wearer can just jump into it from the back like in the game or do they have to assemble the suit around the wearer like most Hollywood suits? The power armour here looks to have an actual frame to it, and is more bulkier than a standard person, so I am curious how someone gets in and out of those power armour suits in real life?

I really like Ella Purnell, she is a great actress. I am definitely sure her communication skills improve in time the world she is in still new to her been a vault dweller she doesn't know much😁

@@WarNeverChanges9191 She was also in Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead and is schedule to return for the sequel. Definitely an actor who's landing in quite a lot of noticeable projects and filmmakers. Also seeing Ella in this scene vs seeing her clothes are ripped in the latest trailer looks like the dramatic character progression. Ella herself is also a Fallout fan, so I'm sure she can put her own personal experience in playing the game into how her character behaves as the season progresses.

Two things I'm very curious about this show: 1) Does it come out on April 12 or 11? The first teaser trailer 3 months ago said April 12, but the newest one says April 11. Did they change the date or made an error? 2) No surprise they built practical power armour suits since the Nolan bros are well known fans of practical effects over CGI. So I'm curious how much does those power armour cost and how do you get inside it? It looks to be a costume that's support by a frame. I remember the werewolves during the early Underworld movies that Len Wiseman directed was like that. Where the stuntmen first had to practice running around in these special stilts because they're feet are going to be off the floor. Then when the werewolf costumes came, they also had to wear a frame in other areas like the chest and head which had animatronic eyes and mouth. I also wonder if you can just slip in from the back of the armour like in the actual games or do they have to build the suit around the wearer like most Hollywood costumes?

An actual believable criticism someone had for this scene is that they thought it's too unrealistic that the BOS member would actually give a ghoul advance warning instead of just firing on sight. Apparent the BOS can be quite extremists when it comes to certain groups and ghouls are among those groups.

I'm going to watch it regardless but i'd be lying if i said it didn't look a touch cheap/fan made. Given its backed by amazon i expected it to look a lot better, Maybe its them being slightly reserved given they pumped everything into Rings of power and it didn't exactly blow people away.

Really? I felt the exact opposite about all of it except the power armour 🤔 I respect your opinion, of course, but can't think of how they could improve the aesthetics of that scene! I feel like seeing mutants in their natural habitat will be the real test

@@Cadaea I think the PA in this scene is supposed to feel a little off because it's Maximus inside the armor who is not fully trained in it's use.

I completely disagree and agree with Cadaea on this one. I think I looks great. I think everyone is too use to seeing everything in CGI that they can't appreciate good ole fashion practical effects anymore that the Nolan bros are known to be big fans of.

Really love the main characters acting and innocent vault dweller personality but the way the Brotherhood of Steel guy just came flying through with his arm jets just felt really off putting.

You can see the jetpack on his back just over his shoulder in one scene (it's just smaller than the ones in the game). The hand jets are for stabilizing/fine control, not full flight.

@@richardyoung3462 Yeah I'm not denying his jetpack I'm just pointing out how silly the hand jets look and jetpacks without having hand jets have been done perfectly in movies/shows like the Mandalorian for example and the flying doesn't look silly like this one. The hand jets are completely unnecessary

@@hanzo90 You're acting like the Brotherhood of Steel's power armour is intended to have Iron Man level of flight and agility. I'm admittedly no expert here, but people who are have stated the suits are meant to be walking tanks and not mobile suits. The jetpacks are likely just intended for any height/fall issues and not actual full flight.

A minor point perhaps, but they missed the mark with the rusting vehicle carcasses. Not a deal breaker, although given the attention to detail with other background clutter it comes across as lazy. The power armor is a different story. I can overlook the hinged faceplate as a theatrical device but the jet-pack just looks hokey. Don't argue 'canon' with me, it would have worked better if he (Maximus, presumably) had just jumped from the container and landed with an earth-shaking thud. I'm curious to see how they justify the ragtag look of the NCR and the overpowered BoS a mere nine years after New Vegas. Overall though, I'm "cautiously optimistic". ETA: Sorry. Nineteen years after NV. But still...

the only issue i have with any of these new shows is only getting 8 episodes for 1 season. its not enough to really get a good or bad idea on how this show could turn out.

@@Cadaea That's most streaming shows in general these days though. Europe been using 6-8 episode seasons for decades now, but Netflix made it common in North America and it's easy to see why they do it. A TV season costing around $100 million or so is the norm, but network TV would space out that budget with over 20+ episodes. Netflix however went with the more bang for your buck approach. Rather than writing so much filler episodes in one season (as most broadcasting network TV shows tend to do), they gave them less than half the normal season, but increased the budget per episode and the model has been working for the most part in streaming. It does make people more anxious to wait for the next season, and if the show is bad, viewers are still far more likely to finish it than a network series just because of how short the season is.
