Its almost impossible not to get side tracked in the game. Your character initially wants to do the main quest, but hmmm, what's in that ruined building way over there? And what's beyond that hilltop? And what's this? A trap door on the floor to some secret place that extends for miles? Main quest? what main quest? I gotta do [fill in the blank] first! The benefit of ignoring the main quest is that your character gets stronger and better equipped through all the extra looting in the side quests. And the FO4 settlement building is probably the biggest distraction in that game. I mean that in a positive way.

It is but it is the opposite to how the games fucntion. They're fun because you get side tracked. the main story is rarely as much fun.

In 1975 there was a bizarre post-apocalyptic film called, "A Boy and His Dog" (which BTW happens to take place in the year "2024"). The surface dwelling protagonist named Vic encounters a community of people living in an underground city sized bunker. Their skins are all pasty white due a lack of sun exposure. (A little detail missing in all fallout games). His dog is telepathic and is named "Blood". There are raiders and mutants in the film. Like Fallout, it too is a violent disturbing film now considered a cult classic, and described as an "offbeat, eccentric black comedy... with an "oddball vision of the future". Not surprisingly this film was one of the inspirations for the Fallout games. This film also influenced the later Mad Max films, and "The Book of Eli" (2010) film. And Fallout TV references "A Boy and His Dog", by mentioning the line said by Maximus: "A Man and His Dog".

I love watching people who have never played the game try and wrap their head around what is going on in a Fallout world. It almost feels the same as when I played the game for the first time. You two are doing a GREAT job! Please put them out faster. I also love your natural reactions, facial expressions, crossing arms or putting your knees up in a defensive posture. You honestly are watching it for the first time, loving it. Not like others that watch it all and then make videos and fake they do not know the ending.

For all the non-gamers. Power Armor is awesome, but it requires a lot of work. Gotta keep repairing it and getting fusion cores for it.

I rarely use Power Armor in FO4 after the boss fight in Concord. Occasionally if I find an X01 suit, I'll take it back to my settlements. But otherwise I can't be bothered with them. I prefer to rely on Girded Medium Leather, and Medium Combat Armor, with some added Ballistic Weave material for good measure. But I will always grab the fusion cores to sell. So my point is that Power Armor is optional in the game, even if you side with the BOS faction.

True. Also if you are the sneaky/stealth type. Power armor is out of the question. Also my favorite FO4 companion Strong the super mutant hates it when I wear Power Armor.

​@CyberJoeyO In FO3, I had a super mutant companion named Fawkes (named after the 17th century Catholic terrorist, Guy Fawkes). He was hilarious in his comments. He often spouted zen philosophy while helping me kill my enemies. I turned him hostile by accident during a firefight with other Super Mutants when I shot him as well. Since all super mutants all look alike, it was an easy mistake.

This isn't the world we life in rehabilitating criminals may work in ou world but it's because we've got professionals to do it and also we ahve amssive societies and rehabilitating criminals is a drop in the bucket of our shared resources. The wasteland is diffrent. you cna't rehabilitate a raider and if you let them go they will go on to murder and worse to others.

24:35 This scene here is a reference to Fallout 1, where Vault 13's water chip was no longer working, and couldn't be repaired. So the Overseer had no choice but to send out someone, who is referred to as The Vault Dweller, to go out in the wasteland and find a new water chip in any of the vaults. However, the Vault Dweller was on a time limit. Vault 13 had about 4 to 5 months worth of water, so when the water goes, so does the vault.

Finding out more about Coop's background throughout this episode was nothin short of amazing. We can really see how he came to hate the vault people so much. The whole scene with Lucy being so nonchalant about carrying the head, toying with it, trying to find out more about it - another example of just how "broken from reality" the vault people are, how they're doing things in such a cold, clinical manner. Poor Maximus has really been going through it this episode - sold his teeth, got beaten up (again), almost got eaten. It was really interesting to see how at first he treated his new squire just like Titus treated him but along the way, after finding out why he he was bullied so much, he actually warmed up to Thaddeus, who saved him and he in turn reciprocated and killed that abomination in the proces. We got some good character development for Maximus. 14:48 Norm is starting to ask the right questions right there and it's pretty cool to see how Lucy's friend, the blonde lady who lost an eye and her husband, actually agrees with him later in the episode. They realize you can't reason or reeducate raiders. 17:16 that's probably where the weapons and necessary tools for the knight are stored. It's also a very clever reference to inventory ingame, how players fill it with all sorts of things and how hard it must be to carry all that around "in real life" - the poor squires are the players of the games 😂 21:35 - this little story that Thaddeus tells - it really shows you how messed up the Brotherhood of Steel is, what sort of behaviour they encourage, very much not knightly. 22:45 with this scene, you pretty much realize the vaulters wouldn't survive a day outside the vault, they're delulu hardcore. That last scene - the realization that our noseless, angry former movie star turned apocalyptic cowboy is actually the person on the poster with the OK sign - ouch! And that choice of song was just perfect. Your post reaction thoughts were a pleasure listenin to, well done discussing what happened in this episode. Thank you for the amazin reaction ❤

Its interesting that Vault-Tec never used Cooper's actual face in their billboard promotions, but rather a goofy cartoon rendition of him. I guess he was also similarly used in all of those Vault-Tec tutorial Perk videos too. No need for a paid actor for a silent character.

You have this poor guy carrying a huge bag full of stuff around, obviously having a difficult time, just like players often do in games that have an inventory/bag weight mechanic.

I’ve only played Fallout 4 (really liked a lot and replayed a bunch of times) so can’t speak for all of the games, but this show does a fantastic job of bringing the Fallout 4 atmosphere and humor to the screen. Also the squires lugging that huge pack around reminds me of my inventory management woes in every game I’ve played. Ladies the over extension of gear is an Easter egg to the game where you can be overweight by collecting too much which prevents you from moving fast. You can lighten you load by giving some to your companion which there are multiple including Dogmeat.
