The first time I saw one of Des's videos was about 20 years ago when he went pike fishing with his pal Nige. The words , "angler casting" have stayed with me ever since. Des is just a legend, loves his fishing and the fish

Take away all the fame and noteriety and you still have a man who loves to fish. A true inspiration to both young and old.

Great fishing. Good to see you using the reels as they are meant to be used. So many people don't know how to use the clutch, just allow the reel to spin backwards and try controlling it with a finger.

Bit late in the day but ive got to comment. Remembwr watching the clean river videos back in the 80's with Des fishing. He's always been an inspitation. Keeps fishing simple and enjoyable. Absolutely brilliant video and well done for putting the earlier video on in terrible conditions for barbel. Just shows that even the best struggle when the fish aren't having it. No over the top, in your face product plugging and lots of information. Well done Cadence.

A lovely days fishing in the company of one of the best anglers of his generation. Although it’s almost 30 years since I last saw Des. ( I was managing Bishops Bowl Lakes at that time ). His story telling is still second to none and his passion and enthusiasm for the sport has never wained. Thanks to Des and Cadence for an inspiring video!

Fantastic video, fantastic angler, fantastic rods and a fantastic company. Will at some stage this year be purchasing two of these rods, my only wish is that they were actually called Cadence “Des Taylor” rods. A bit like the John Wilson rods, it’s always such a nice thing to have a rod named after a true master

Watching here in the states. This barbel fishing is very similar to how I fish for redhorse suckers here in my local rivers in Ohio. They are built about the same and like fast flowing waters as well. Like to know more about these rods, they look really nice

I don’t think a 1.75 lb rod would be strong for casting a 3oz led to the far bank on the river Thames, you need a carp rod with big guides to hit 60 + yards with 12lb mainline.

Very boring film. I was looking foreard to seeing this. All it was, was a cadence plug A Des Taylor plug Continuos fish playing and not a very good learning curve. Could have been much better
@cadencefishinguk3 жыл бұрын
Hi David thanks for the comments. Could you kindly suggest how we can improve and maybe also how to be less 'very boring' as you put it? We are always open to constructive criticism. Maybe Des could dress up as a leopard or wear a Mexican wrestler's mask, am sure that would be highly entertaining! Yes of course it's a 'plug' for a Cadence product designed by Des, not quite sure what else you expected by tuning in to this particular channel to be fair? We believe that our videos are bursting with useful information (and are pleasing to watch) which clearly many anglers find of great benefit to their own fishing. Editing nine fish into forty minutes as well as including plenty of 'how to' info' was well achieved in my humble opinion. There are plenty of ways of catching barbel, this was focussed on Des's standard approach on the Severn, so am not sure how it could have included much else? Could you maybe suggest what kind of additional details you are seeking, and next time we are out with Des we can get him to focus on them for you? Cheers. (Chappy)
