Cades Cove is incredible. Yes, it can take a lot of patience to deal with the crowds. And there will be crowds on the best of days. But, it will be an unforgettable experience. Also, don't be the person outside their vehicle when bears are near like in the video.

Many people ask why the doors and ceilings in the cabins are so low and many cabins lack separate bedrooms….. When you heat and cook with wood, and the labor involved to keep the wood supply required, the less space to heat means less wood is burned.

Great Video… Fwiw, Mingus Mill just before you get to Oconaluftee Visitor Center near Cherokee is also a working mill and the largest in the GSMNP.

I lived in Michigan for 50 years. Up there out in the country, you cant avoid seeing deer on the back roads. Now I live in Oak Ridge and when I go to Cades Cove, I can't help but laugh at the vehicles I see with Michigan plates stopping to gaze at the deer like it's the first time they have ever seen one

OMG! I’m from up north and our insurance is so high because of deer. Yet I’m still stopping and looking. I just think it’s something about being in the Mountains!

@@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains I live near Knoxville, have little woods next to the house, and still see deer almost daily. But I agree, in the mountains you do tend to look at them differently

Keep in mind for those unfamiliar, Parsons branch is a 1 way road that's 4x4 and higher clearance vehicles preferably and is unmaintained

When driving the loop, if you want to stop and look at something, pull off the road!!! Do not block the road!!!!! It clearly states this rule on a sign at the entrance.

I truly wish people would follow those rules!! It’s very frustrating. Thank you for putting that out there!

Is it better to drive or to do the horseback way?
@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains Жыл бұрын
Thats an excellent question. We have only drove it. But the horse back riding looks really fun. Has any of our other viewers rode horses in cades cove ? And want to comment ?
@elizabethmefford72004 ай бұрын
The horse riding does not go around the loop. They have another trail.

Thank you for this video. Is there a place to rent E-bikes? Can you get a parking pass at cades cove gift shop? How are the crowds the middle of October?
@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains8 ай бұрын
Hello, Thank You for watching. I dont think E bikes are allowed on the loop. As far as parking passes go. I dont think they are available in the gift shop. But I think there are kiosk by the loop road entrance that you can purchase parking passes at. And October is a crazy busy time of year in the smokies. But its worth it. The changing leaves are beautiful.

Why are you filming? It’s not allowed no filming in any National Park
@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains Жыл бұрын
According the changes in the law, unless it’s for profit you are allowed to film. And unless there has been changes or updates to this law, sharing on KZbin and filming is still allowed as long as the person isn’t doing it for profit or trying to sponsor a product. If a person plans on filming for profit, they can apply for a permit when filming for a “commercial” enterprise. I do not profit from these video and do not plan on pursing a profit for the videos I posted. I make these videos so that people who want to learn more about the Smokies have access to information that is not influenced by profit organizations. Not everyone has access to the parks or will ever be able to enjoy them in person. And though I understand the reason these laws have been put into place, I do question how or why the government is going about this. Personally, I feel that it will eventually be dragged into the courts as it boarders on censorship. www.nps.gov/aboutus/news/commercial-film-and-photo-permits.htm

There are thousands of KZbin videos posted on KZbin of National Parks just in the last couple weeks from KZbin vloggers. We were in Tremont a few months ago, the wife was chatting with a couple Park Rangers while I was filming the Beautiful Middle Prong. They were very nice. I believe the only people that are concerned are other vloggers overreacting to a policy that has been in the books for decades. If you have millions of subscribers and are making a fortune off National Park videos, they may ask you nicely to stop filming….. Relax
