British? My brother, a Seaforth Highlander fought and died, a Scot, as did many other Scots, far and away out of proportion to Scotland's population in "Britain's Wars". The English, Welsh, or even the Ulster troops NEVER, ever went into action to the sound of the pipes.

Great band! however, the shrill screeching of commands given by female leaders takes away from the military bearing of this fine group

I thought their commands were perfectly clear, their mace drill excellent, and their voices reflected that these are young people - and there's nothing wrong with that. I imagine that they were selected in the same way as leaders in the Armed Forces (who sponsor the Cadet organisations) are - on merit and ability, not gender or the timbre of voice.

Well said Anubis. Such sexist nonsense needs to be tackled wherever it appears. The orders given were clear and authoritative and better than many I witnessed, from male or female parade commanders, in my 24 years in the Armed Forces. Well done to all of the cadets on parade, excellent performance.

The female that was shouting these commands is in fact my daughter! She has worked so very hard to get to the level that she is at and also worked so hard once appointed the position to make sure that her commands and mace drill we to the highest standard. Why in this day and age is there still discrimination between male and female?

Sexist. Women can be leaders, and I hope you understand that. The commands issued are perfectly fine, and there is nothing wrong with the "shrill screaming" of this woman, because she wasn't "shrilly screaming" in the first place.

The young lady is still a child? Hence! The reason for her voice not being fully developed or slightly more rounded. If that is all you have to offer as a constructive comment? Then please don't! All aspects of drill, turnout, deportment and music. Pretty much spot on. Sir! Your dismissed.
