Thank you very much for an awesome video..I am in the process of purchasing a CTS V-Sport and adding the Trifecta Tune and this helps me a lot
@robertarcher4457 жыл бұрын
Judging by the dync charts the car is shifting way to late. I would lower shift points to 57 or 5800 max The power starts falling off at 5700 and peak TQ looks to be at 3500 So keeping the car in the 5 to 6K range is slowing it down. nice car by the way!

I have a 2014 Cadillac CTS-V Sport with Corsa Exhaust ZZP Cold Air Intake and the Trifecta Tune.I like it.The tune definitely gives it a little more pep.With the ZZP you can here the turbos and now I can hear the blow off valve a little.But the tune is pricey!

I'm between this and a mkz 3.0T awd, I personally prefer the lincoln but for the price I can get one of these I'm really starting to like it.

What year is your CTS? What was the cost of the tune? Have you done any zero-60 or zero-100 comparisons?
@wil_leighton16188 жыл бұрын
love your car man. I'm looking at getting either a slightly used '14 vsport premium or a Charger SP. Just curious, have you had any issues with your car? Especially after the tune?
@trtrackstar898 жыл бұрын
Wil_Leighton Thanks. I love my Vsport! I haven't had any issue other than when i just floor it and it fights to keep traction. Although after I fight for traction the boost sometimes becomes limited to stock PSI. Then I have to restart it. Like it happened in the video. My buddy just got the ATS-V so I can't wait to see how mine stacks against his.
@wil_leighton16188 жыл бұрын
thanks for the response. Yeah I saw that you mentioned the tires were a little dull. The Vsport really is one unique car which is why I'm leaning towards getting one over the charger. I would love to see a Vsport go up against a Charger SP. I actually had the opportunity to ride in a ATS V coupe and the CT6 on in Atlanta recently. That ASTV is one silly amazing car. That's the reason I've started looking at Cadillac :)

Well depends what you want. Big straight line power or power with handling. It's possible to achieve big power out of the dodge if you want a drag car. Personally I enjoy taking spirited cruises and so far the power hasn't let me down. 430whp and mid 400 tq to the wheels is pretty close to 500 crank.

Not to mention it still is a comfortable luxury vehicle with a lot of tech.

Try w/ 100 octane. Just went to the track and put race gas in the tank. The tune *really* takes advantage of it.

John Dale I love it. Can't imagine going back to stock. However I think I am going to switch to HP tuners when I mod it further such as down pipes, intake and E85.

Did anything ever get done to change the detune on loss of traction, or is that a safety feature that won't be removed? Also, now that lots of time has passed, any issues to report with the vehicle? Tune related or otherwise? Thanks for the great vid!
@trtrackstar894 жыл бұрын
Josh Caine, thanks for the reply! As far as the loss of traction goes, nothing was done as far as I know. It helps limit the power to regain traction. Slipping ain’t winning. I’ve had the car tuned for a while. No issues related to the tune. However I did discover a major weakness. My mechanic says it’s rare. I was out one day running against mustangs and Camaros. My mistake was I didn’t allow for cool down between runs. What happened is my car went into limp mode and would not run more and more. With each start up as if it was out of timing. Found out I spun the reluctor on the back of the crank shaft. Responsible for timing. The whole engine was pulled and replaced the crank as well as turbos while he was at it for the waste gate update. All under warranty. Phew.. my friend is my mechanic and helped. Also suggested a spare ECU he flashed to stock to avoid issues w GM. A major job like this would prob require specs to be sent to GM. ECU was like $300. The tune is solid though. I think so far I’ve seen I’m the only one aside from one other case. Just allow cool down between runs. The heat build up is what spun it. It’s just pressed onto the back of the crank. I love my tune and continue to run it.

@@trtrackstar89 awesome, thanks for the reply and info. I'm on the fence about selling my 05 Dodge Magnum RT and picking up a 2014 CTS Vsport Premium. :) Nice not having car payments, but would be nice having a newer ride as well.

Josh Caine I love mine. Best all around and sleeper. If you’re going for a comfortable, good looking car w tech it’s great. Handles amazing. I’ve impressed a lot of people going through some technical roads in the country. Had the car drifting around corners in a effort to keep up w my friends C7 supercharged vette. He was shocked I was on his heels. Of course he would pull away on the straight aways. But I’d catch him in the curves. Grip and control is better when on the gas. That e-diff works magic. Really turns the car and manages power great. My friend w his GTR was like what do you have AWD?! Lol Bottomline is this car delivers the smiles per gallon.

What was the stock psi?
@Sacrede13 жыл бұрын
Odd...I got bone stock vehicle, not even the km filter, and i got much closer to those numbers on the Dyno From English Racing...could be a dyno v dyno thing. I was using 93 OCT btw. I have a test/mix kit for testing. If you got 93 oct straight from pump chances are its not 93 oct and that would definitely lower your gains significantly.
@Sacrede13 жыл бұрын
Also its more than just putting the car into track mode. You have to hit the traction button 3 times to enter race mode.

Love it bro!! I'm here in MD and it's cold but I plan on getting the Trifecta tune, tires and some blow off valves. Do you suggest and of them? Tires or BOV? The car is a beast inside and out. Thanks for the video!
@trtrackstar898 жыл бұрын
Lee Sanchez Thanks for the feedback. I just received my BOV's. I will be making a video of how to install them and review. I would do tires after the tune because you are going to need the added grip. That's my next purchase. Be sure to subscribe for updates.
@leesanchezz8 жыл бұрын
What brand BOV did you get? Are you on FB? Are worried about your warranty? That's the only thing holding me back from flashing the ECU with the Trifecta tune. Thanks for the info!
@trtrackstar898 жыл бұрын
I purchased a Turbosmart Kompact BOV. My warranty is almost up. Its really not so hard to replace them so i can always put the OEM back in and reflash it back to stock if i need to.

What would you say your 0-60 time is?
@TroIIingThemSoftly8 жыл бұрын
Here's what probably happened: I'll bet Trifecta let the car cool down between runs, which allows for the maximum reading on the dyno. You stated that the gut at the shop did a run and messed it up, then did another the propper way. I'm guessing you had a bit of heat-soak from the back-to-back dyno pulls, which would explain the difference.
@trtrackstar898 жыл бұрын
Don't SSleep Maybe but he did another pull right after and it made more power. It was Dyno'd in a span of an hour including Trifecta install. Not much time for it to cool down between runs.
@Edge516 жыл бұрын
Don't SSleep I agree cool down times and what type dyno was used, elevation, cold or hot day, fuel quality, and lots of little factors can change the outcome. Even tires and wheels can have different results due to rotational mass. You could help your results by ditching the Cadillac engine cover with the blanket underneath it raises intake temp while car heat soaks. Throw a block of dry ice on top of it while you are cooling down. We used to put blocks of dry ice on top of intakes and close hood back in the day to cool the intake manifold for back to back drag racing.

Wesley Kuntz He might have ran it in 4th gear. I only suggested it. Trifecta numbers are to the crank from what I've found. The gains notable. I have been working with them now and love the customer service. They are quick to respond and are helping Tune my new Intake.

@colinsdad16 жыл бұрын
Ummmm.... what's the Trifecta car running for mods? If they have just aftermarket up and downpipes with a decent exhaust, that may explain the power difference. For a COMPLETELY stock car, those are mighty impressive numbers!!

I dont know much about these particular cars (Im a V guy, but love turbo cars so no hate just my $0.02) perhaps depending on how the turbos are gated, it throws more boost at the engine? If Im way off base just lmk

I think the v-sport is better balances, in a straight line the v would win but I actually like my v-sport more than my corvette to drift and nicer than v’s in my opinion, slides and handles insane, also 0 to 60 in 4 1/2 seconds is still faster than most older v’s. Plenty of power
