Unbelievable how fast these cars are! The needle just continues to climb until it cant anymore.

My friend Chris had one of these and it was hands down the fastest production car I ever rode in ... I've rode in some very fast cars let memtell you 😏 but , this car is even faster than my brothers spider and my 97 Lexus ..... it's unreal haha but it's got a 300hp 4.6 and it's geared perfectly .... You expect it to stop pulling after you hit 100mph but not even close hahaha .... It's still pulling at 130 when the car shuts down and before anyone says no it doesn't you better go look into it or just watch this video again because its just like this but it's in mph not kpm hahaha ... it's light weight and will bark the tires and break free at 40 and even though I've never rode in it in the rain I can imagine it's probably pretty scary hahaha .... great cars but hear they're bad about blowing head gaskets ...

Yeah it's kinda insane. I bought one off a friend, and he sent me a video of him going 176MPH. I only ever got it up to 130 because the governor had been re-enabled after I bought it

The rate of acceleration above 160Km/h seems to be steady, which is amazing, because it is harder and harder on the engine. And I realize the engine is getting into peak power band here, but still. Just amazing.

These aren't particularly quick, but they don't really taper off as you pass 80, which is odd since it's geared so long.

Owned several, can confirm you feel the "Northstar" kick in and it was like Cadillacs version of VTECH lol. They had alot of throttle lag and lacked responsiveness but if you left your foot down it would catapult you into the back seat. Then at 80-100k miles your head gaskets and rear main seal start leaking like crazy... also the motors were mounted sideways so working on them easily meant removing the quarter panel.
@jorgehuerta95937 ай бұрын
Bullshit as a transmission shop mechanic you pull the engine and transmission out perched to the frame from UNDER the car VERY EASY!!!!
@blessedjuggernaut7 ай бұрын
4.6 Northstar vs Ford 4.6. The biggest difference is one last 3 times as longer as the other. With Ford 4.6 2vs, you're talking 300k+ miles with basic maintenance and oil changes. Seen retired Crown Vic cop cars turned taxies with 600k miles on them, and over 10,000 idle hours.

Yup went from a 2003 cadillac seville sts to a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis because I like 4.6l v8s but the 2v is easy to work on and is reliable as hell.

what a great sounding engine. Too bad the reliability was for shit. Although we know the fix with the head gaskets and coolant leak its not cheap if you can not do it yourself. Great engine, but GM's usual shenanigans lead to a total failure of what was suppose to be the best around

No kidding. This was supposed to compete with Fords own 32v engine. Both were amazing performers when they arrived.

I've got a 94 eldorado Y Vin and it accelerates horribly, but I can't figure out why
@MikeB85 Жыл бұрын
Does it run poorly otherwise? Might need spark plugs, or it could possibly be a plugged cat converter
@ImperatorCaesar22 Жыл бұрын
@@MikeB85 It seems to be very temperamental, sometimes it accelerated well and sometimes not now, but all the time now it has a very rich fuel smell from the exhaust. It could be related to the cat which is probably plugged from the oil burning, but that wouldn't cause a fuel rich scent I'm pretty sure. I'm just getting the P080 code which says fuel system rich but it doesn't tell me anything else. I was thinking maybe the spark plugs fouled or it could be the fuel pressure regulator. But honestly no idea
@MikeB85 Жыл бұрын
@@ImperatorCaesar22that code is related to your throttle position sensor, which could explain some of your issues. Its a cheap/easy part to replace, might be worth starting there
@ImperatorCaesar22 Жыл бұрын
@@MikeB85 Yeah the code can be the TPS or fuel rich, both of them for some reason. I guess it very well could be the problem, but I tried resetting it according to the manual and it didn't do anything, so maybe it really is completely broke

My dad had a 94 crown victoria a long time ago. Honestly thus doesnt look to be too much quicker except the speedo on the vic only when up to 85mph. This looked to run to 60mph in about 8-8.5 seconds. His vic was 9-9.5. Even my 06 trailblazer with a 4.2L I6 runs it in under 9
