So I replaced my CUE touch screen last night. It took me about 2 hours. Your video was invaluable. I definitely would not have been able to do this on my own. There were parts of your video that I played over and over again to make sure that I was doing it right. In the end, it all turned out better than I had hoped. I was initially very intimidated at the prospect of pulling the trim off and extracting the CUE module, but with the help of your video, it was actually pretty simple. I just thought I'd leave a quick note to thank you for producing this video, and to let others know that it is totally doable. I also replaced my backup camera (different video), but it turned out to be pretty easy as well.

Fantastic tutorial. Saved me some serious coin. Took about 2 hours or so. Just need plastic trim pry tools (essential), 7 mm socket. Small/medium philips head.. and this video. Thanks.

Thank you for the tutorial! I was able to fix my screen on my own. Just needed my husband's help to unscrew couple tight ones. However, now my secret compartment isn't working. I can manually force open and close but not automatically. However, I'm so happy that cue screen is working now!!

Nice job on the installation. That giant foam blob in the middle of the screen layers is permanently there because of a dirty manufacturing environment, and is the reason those screens are so cheap. I would have definitely sent it back. If you get sick of looking at it and want to replace it with a higher quality true OEM grade version- shoot me a message for a discounted price.

If you want the readers digest version of how to do this, this is the person version for you. However, just to get it out it will probably take you as a beginner at least an hour, for 1 there are a few issues, some of the screws just to get it out of the car where not 8 mm but larger. The best way to do it is to take a piece of paper with little bowls and write under the bowls where the screws go. To unhook the 3 wires that connect the radio/monitor to your care, takes some elbow grease if you don't know what you are doing. Once you get it out of the car that's where the real fun begins, it will take you at least 90 minutes maybe even 2 hours to get the 25 plus screws off to actually expose the old monitor and remember........Keep the screws organized (you will have plastic screws and machine screws) Plastic screws are the screws that go into plastic, they are screws, the others that go into the metal are shiny have a dull end and look more like a bolt. If you are not careful you will do what I did and have 1 big pile of screws as if you aren't already overwhelmed. I ordered mine from Cuescreens directly. Their video was life saving in addition you can call the owner directly and he will walk you through it. They offer better monitors that don't have the same gel technology that created the issue in the first place. You will spend a little more than 56 dollars for them but remember you are in this situation because of the same cheap screen that created the problem in the 1st place so to install the same non sense well expect the same non sense to happen again especially if you live in extreme cold and hot temperatures. If you order from them they will send you the tools needed to get into the guts of your car and some small tweezers that you will need to insert the copper cable, you will need your own screw driver and socket wrench. They offer a warranty on it as well as superior screens. It took me a noob/beginner probably 4 hours to do it. I didn't want to mess it up. All i'm saying is don't come into to it expecting to get it done in 1 hour. at least 2.5.

@brianjones2687 Жыл бұрын
So I’m curious if mine is what is cracked? It’s not the front touch part nor is it the LCD. It’s seem like it a piece of glass in the middle. Behind the front plastic. Does that make since. So will the part your using cover that.

I replaced the Cue but when I plugged it back in, the screen still won't come on. It's totally black as well as the steering wheel. I can control the air but there's no lights on the entire Cue. Nothing about the screen works though. Do you have any idea why it wouldn't power back up after plugging the new Cue up? Thanks for any help.

I was sure what piece I needed. It was the glass between the front piece and the actual lcd. And yes this part was the part. It wasn’t just the thin plastic that was in the front. It also had glass behind it and it worked and it worked excellent and I was done in an hour.. and I bought the $32 one and it showed up the next day.
