Cadwell Park Bike Track Day - Novice Group - MSV Track day

3 laps round Cadwell Park in the Novice Group. This was my second time on the track, but my first time on the 600rr. Perfect weather for it that day. Check out the minor bump I had on the second lap. Got to admit it, from that point on in that session it made me a little nervous about the riders on track and so I took it a little easier for the remaining laps. We were lucky to stay on as my front wheel buckled and my rear wheel came off the ground twice. 😱 The rest of the day was fine and I picked up a little more speed over time. Ignore the Speedo on the bike, it's out! 😂

Not sure what you mean there mate? Only done Cadwell once before this (and bought my first track bike this year) I would say I'm definitely in the novice skillset.

@@SuggyRacing just saying didn't see anyone overtake you but you were overtaking everyone else. Been on plenty of track days where faster riders book lower groups to feel like the big man. Not say that's what you did, but if you spend your sessions overtaking everyone else, go up a group and test yourself.

@@adamhuxley1129 Yeah it varies with rider skill set. I can't speak for everyrone else but only judge my own experience and confidence on a bike/track. My goal is to try an intermediate group this year if I feel ready for it. If you see my Oulton video, you'll see people passing me. Just depends on the riders who happen to book that day. 👍

Correct group in my opinion mate- still loads to learn but going well . Somebody has to be fastest in the novice group , same as any other group !

@@theninjas39 Yeah that's how I though about it too. There's always someone quicker. 😊 I think it's too easy to jump up a group, wind the throttle back trying to keep up, them causing an issue. My gearing is all over the place too. Gotta sort that out. So much going through your head and I only saw how bad it was when I watch the video back.

I raced at Cadwell park in the 80s its got to be one of the best circuits for bikes out there. There were no track days back then I think just practiced days on Wednesdays. Enjoyed watching the video, thanks. It does look a bit scary though when so many people don't know what line to take and if you want to go past you have to expect anything. It's much easier when everyone else knows what they are doing! You had to wear an orange bib until you had done enough races to get your licence signed off so everyone knew to beware of the novice!

Yeah it's an amazing track isn't it. Its my fav. Yeah we have it wear the orange bibs too. It definitely helps as some of the riders have given me more space 😂

Damn, the dude on the Ducati had zero corner speed. I remember a similar experience on my 600 with people blasting away down the 2 straights on 170hp bikes and then being all over the place in the corners.

There's always a mix of people at the tracks. If you ever get chance to come over, it is a great track. I'm sure you've seen the BSB racing from last weekend? This is probably my favourite track in the UK. 😁👍

I've got a hero 8 at the front on the yoke, a hero 5 for the rear cam and I also use hero session for rear cam too. 👍
