Caeda is my favorite flying unit. Her relationship with Marth is so wholesome as well as her willingness to help him. The supports she has with other characters in fe12 are pretty neat. Its also worth noting that at one point Caeda was, and still is in my opinion at least, an unsung heroine of Nintendo.

I would like to add to the Ogma section. It is said in some developers notes that Caeda in the act of protecting Ogma from the executioner's whip, suffered one harsh blow from the whip in the process. Despite this extreme pain, she still shielded him from any harm, covered in Ogma's blood, and this is what lead Ogma's execution to finally coming to an end. There's one more thing to note about this, when Ogma's freedom was bought by Mostyn and he wakes up after all that trauma, Caeda gave him a tiara, that being a memento of her mother, probably because he couldn't possibly have any money. She did so much just for this one man she didn't even know, her bravery and kindness is unparalleled here. Great video! I had recently done my own research on Caeda's character, which is where I learned more about Ogma's backstory too.

considering she originates from a fucking NES she's absolutely amazing for her time and I still think she holds up today, this girl is extremely love-able and it has (almost) nothing to do with her looks, its just rare to have a character like her in those days and i know she might not seem special these days but tomboy princess that'll do anything to win the wars(without resorting to war crimes that require essays to justify) is charming as hell.

The first love interest for the lord is not a damsel in distress but they probebly had regret since most of those made after are at least at one point: -Deirdre is saved by Sigurd then kidnapped by Manfroy. -Seliph can marry Lene/Layla (but their are the only girls a can marry that don't have a lover conversation with him so I guess he is not really into damsel in distress) -Nanna's main role in the plot of FE5 is to be kidnapped -All the girl that Roy can marry except Shanna (she is Caeda's true successor) need to be rescued by his army -Ninian need to be rescued at multiple occasions, Lyn is captured by Uhai (even if he release her right after), the pegasus knights stay winning -Tana is captured twice in Ephraim's mode But since the 3DS games it seem to be more equilibrated: -Chrom can marry Maribelle whom he rescued but he can also marry Sumia who save him in a cutscene -Corrin can also marry people they rescued but I think that more people rescue them (Azura help them to return to their human form, the butler that Corrin can marry save them from a faceless in Conquest, Hinoka save them in Birthright...)

I love Caeda so much, it hurts how much Heroes butchers her. Writing for the FE1 cast is overall fairly inconsistent (Linde not knowing what food is like outside the palace despite having lived as a slave...) so we're given the luxury of making our own head cannon and I believe in Caeda supremacy! Though I will say, her summon quote from FEH "I'm Princess Caeda of Talys. I'm also a pegasus knight, though perhaps an unconventional one." goes hard!

Caeda is basically a girlboss, she is cute and kind but also has the ability to manipulate the situations (with roger) and is very intelligent (with lorenz), has no shame or fear of say what she thinks. Specialy now that I read it, I love how the manga shows her romance with Marth, It's too damn cute. The feh line is not the only moment where she is weaker though, in the anime and manga she almost never fights and in some moments she is put in danger Like you, i not a fan of that, get that she is not a seasoned soldier like the white wings but she is Truly capable of fighting and is even considered a legend in the Chrom's era if I'm not mistaken. She is one of my favorites characters of arkanea

Along with Soren she's my favorite character in the series. Great influence came in partly because of an LP of FE7 the pegasus knights units left a really good impression on me then I wanted to play for myself a FE game and I did it a few months before Awakening released with Shadow Dragon it felt appropriate since it's a remake of the first game and knowing better Marth himself was also intriguing enough. Then after the prologue she get's introduced properly after we've been told her little kingdom helped the main characters have a refugee. I already was conditioned to have her always in the party but she kept impressing me more and more, first having a personal weapon that's like a Rapier in lance form? Really neat. Sure her HP and Strength are kinda low but Wing Spear can carry her until she promotes which really help with that problem. But besides her good work as a unit I also *really* enjoyed her as a character a lot, she's kind-hearted sure but she also has a side of roguery and mischief that I wasn't expecting at all and it's in a pretty conscious, believable, well balanced and charming way, it makes it funnier that she's the main character romantic interest and that after all this time she remains pretty unique really love Marth and Caeda/Shiida as a couple. Also the fact that despite being clearly important she can still die without causing a Game Over or having her being there but retired from action like other characters really sells well one of the pillars in this franchise you can still win war but at a cost and sacrifice, the fact that Marth's ending is worse if she dies it's a really good example of this. It's kinda of a shame that later portrayals like Heroes or Warriors keep her a bit one-note rehearsal with her speech of believing in love she gives to Roger, or her support with Marth in Warriors which is a rehearsal of the one from New Mystery (cool to see it re-enacted with voices though) I mean it's not bad but there's more to her and I dunno if it's like the writers really think she's that simple and that there's really not much more to her than that or they're afraid of interpreting the character in a wrong way, well crossovers, spin-offs can be kinda like that sometimes also plus points to her for having more or less as many recruitments possible as Marth, Lorenz recruitment with her being one of my favorites. All in all she's appreciated but I always feel like she should be more appreciated in general you know? Kinda like Alm and Celica are more or less liked equally I usually think in the eyes public she could be equally appreciated as Marth but there's a certain lack of knowledge or ignorance on her presence. Well who knows what the future depart her? Maybe new remakes similar to Echoes Shadows of Valentia could give her that push or even a new sequel after New Mystery? More alts in FEH? A new anime adaptation of the Archaneia Saga? Since the old one just got 2 episodes, if that ever happens I would really enjoy if they dedicate a few episodes to see the time spent in Talys at the beginning and see how she and Marth grow and bond together before starting their quest. Either way I hope her the best and I can always enjoy her old appearances.
