I forget the coach's name, but I loved the snippets of him that they showed. He knows what things to criticize, he utilizes positive reinforcement, and he trusts his team to make decisions in game. Like his point about Baron. Him saying that it's not his decision what they do, but pointing out that they need to choose one thing to do is so important as a coach. You give your players full agency, but make sure they are utilizing their agency as a team.

People keep calling to replace BrokenBlade, but who would they replace him with? He was by far the best toplaner in EU, and there doesn't seem to be any upcoming talent in EU that have shown signs of being better than him. The only other option would be to import someone from Korea or China, which I don't see G2 doing. I just find it so strange that randos on the internet will immediately jump to replacing the roster when things go wrong.

Yike was under performing compare to summer and MSI, Hans Sama target banned and cant play any other champion in world standards. I find it odd that we just forget 2018 and 2019 as if it never happened. Unless the cycle is that we havent been first place at worlds. In that case yea, being the very best team in the world in the 3rd best league should never be the "cycle" we expect. TL;DR I support Europe since season 3 starting with FNATIC and keep seeing our region getting smashed again and again by eastern teams. Not to take the credit of Fnatic & G2, but even in 2019 and 2020 our results relied mostly on Korea being bad because of vision nerfs that changed everything for the region ( they used to be so strong because they had a crazy vision control and you COULD not take a single objective, most people would spend like 2000 golds in wards and shit). Anyway, it feels like China & Korea were the only ones to step up since 2018 and we keep slacking off. Culture of work, number of talents, you can find any excuses you want, in the end, we lose every year. I'm not saying that G2 didn't try, but I really do not agree with the "single day" mistake, the games against DK & WBG were comeback on comeback, you could even say that ocean soul saved one and Theshy throws the other( but anyway a win is a win), G2 VS GEN G wasn't a match, NRG vs G2 wasn't a match and BLG vs G2 was the single BO of the year where I could have said they had really good shot, but unfortunately it wasn't enough. I feel really sad because you can see they really tried the whole year. So what is the problem ? To my opinion, I think the scrim bias is a real deal with our region. As Scout said in a way, Every NA & EU teams are proud of their scrims resultats every year, and every year they get clapped . So there must be a problem right ? Even at MSI G2 was winning against BLG but it didn't translate to on stage matches. I think there are two issues : 1) The games are slower on stage and so the tempo changes.Maybe we lack this idea of taking our time. Every time I was watching G2 it felt like they were playing as if they were in such a hurry, and most of the time on objectives, they would be so much impatient in drake or baron fight , as if they had to go all out, instead of taking a step back and wait. They played their games as if they were at 150 km/h on 3rd gear, in other words, the idea is here but not at the good pace. 2) Even if YOU give 100% why do you think the other team is giving 100% ? I think it's a mistake to believe that eastern teams would play scrims as official matches because you do, maybe they took this block of scrim to train herald fights, play around top , try a different champion, and while WE give our heart and core to the scrim, showing our hand, by the same occasion, they just collect information and surprise us every BO5. With all this.. What is the solution ? First of all, it's gonna be mean, but you should fire on the spot every fcking player that does not want to play. It's such a fucking waste of time on good and young talent to keep staying with players that collect paycheck and 6 months holidays every year, and I know they know themselves they are not real competitors. You should also scout young players ( 14 to 17) and train them in ERL for 2 years, then you make them play, how is that that some 30 years old dude that was a pro back in 2013 can still play in ERL, it's supposed to be a structure to train young talent, not a fcking rest house. ( and I say this as a 27 years old dude). Find people that loves the game, find people that are interested in the game, find people that breath and live by and for the game. This is not a job, this is not a friend share house, this is a sport like any other, and only the best should stay. What do you think motivates people in Asia? They know that if they are not the best, some 30 14 years old kids are going to take your spot. This would keep a nice and healthy competition in the league. Then, the players should lower their ego and learn to play a bit more champions. For real I don't get how some people can say " Nah I don't want to play this even if it's fucking op, or have only 3 or 4 champions at best. We are so limited in team composition, drafts, and champion pool that it's cringy. Except for DRX, every team that won was able to perform with a front to back comp, a poking composition, a side lane push compositions, I don't want to say that you have to reny your identity as a team, but not being able to play certains drafts or type of champs or worse, not WANTING to play them is a serious crime and should be banned on the spot. Then last but not least, Let people and player exchange about the game please. In Asia the coaches speak between themselves, even on scrim results, they talk about champs, they talk about drafts, they talk about match ups, they talk about results and strategies, but in Europe it feels like every team is abstracted from the other, and we do not work as a region, but as groups of mercenaries going to war against a 1 000 000 organised army.

I think the reason why 2019 G2 did so well was because they were really versatile and laid back. They could play many meta and off meta champions and they were really cooking in draft. It seems that this iteration of G2 lacks that flexibility. Then, when you get banned out or countered, you just look worse. Also I think G2 scrimmed too much, for how low flexibility in drafts they shown. In any sport, you get ups and downs and you try to achieve best results when it matters. It seems that this year they went full tryhard, which ended up hurting them in this last stretch

You cant lose the versatility of the top lane, because you are so extremely locked in draft and predictable. Wunder was at his best when he could balance between Tanks and carries/split pushers (like Camille and Ryze). The moment he locks in Sion/Gragas every game, the enemy can simply shut down G2s bot lane entirely if they want. Not having the ability to adapt throughout the series based on where the enemy is at their weakest tends to lead to poor results
