Hi, First of all, I really wanted to congratulate you for the awesome website that you have, it has definitely helped me a lot with the CAE exam. Secondly, I wanted to ask you about part two of the writing. I wanted to focus my studying in some particular pieces of writing rather than others to make a quick decision on the day of the exam. I wanted the proposal or report to be my first option that day. On the one hand, I know that they are more difficult than the other types of writing and that they require a much formal register, having said that, I also think that I am able to "memorize" a much specific structure and some very common ways of starting paragraphs as this type of writing is much more concrete than a review (I think) and you have a clearer idea of what the question is going to be like. Do you think that this would be a good reason for writing this kid of text or would you recommend sticking to the more informal ones? Thank you. Carla

Hey - I replied to your email. For anyone else with the same question, learning to write reports+proposals is a good idea, but don't think it's harder than an informal text. It isn't! If you work in an English-speaking office job you'll write in that style 20 times a week.
