Thanks to the army of India we have today a brand in continuous operation since 1901, without those mythical 800 motorcycles purchased to patrol their long and tortuous borders, Royal Enfield would be history. I have no objections but the absence of Royal Enfield dealers in my city, at least to appreciate it live. Definitely my option would be the Interceptor without a doubt. Great test!

I love my Interceptor! I am 6' 2" and 260 lbs. I enjoy long touring rides, so a cushy seat is a must-have. Corbin entered the fray and offers a very nice one. For optimal comfort I also had my dealer install a set of handlebar risers that raise the bars one inch and back one inch. Perfect. I also installed a pair of compact engine guards mounting a pair of J&P Cycles fold-up foot pegs for a change in seating position when needed. And hard shell saddle bags.

I own a Continental GT 650 and I can do smooth overtakes on the highway on 6th Gear at 100mph with ease. The bike has more torque and power than anyone can fully use (spec sheet nerds may disagree). Royal Enfield has hit it out of the park with the 650 twins and the sales and the following for them speaks for itself!

Fantastic bike the Interceptor. I test rode it, made a video, watched the video, realized just how much I liked the bike, and bought it the next business day. I've always (and still do) wanted a classic 500. I've never even really been interested in this style of bike. It won me over for sure. Good video, thanks.

I already tried a real American voice in one of my videos, but things didn't work as I expected. Curiously, the robotic voice sounds very good for all non-English natives. Cheers.

I would suggest the Interceptor. I wanted to take the GT but after test riding both of them I just fell in love with the Interceptor and immediately booked one. Then again it depends on ones choice of riding posture and comfort.

I tested this exact bike one week after this video was posted! Clutch and shifting is delightful . Exhaust note is sweet, power and torque are spot on, low rpm torque and power to the redline. On the other hand, I found the front suspension a bit soft. If someone agrees please let me know. They will have me as a costumer as soon as I can!

Yes, you are right. But the Continental Gt 650 has a stiffer front suspension compared with the Interceptor. Cheers.

Nice review. I rode both this weekend back to back, and personally preferred the Interceptor as it was more comfortable - not just more pressure on your arms, but the clip-ons mean you feel more of the road surface too. The GT looks great though!

Quando vi o canal pela primeira vez pensei que não era Português, comecei a "devorar" vídeos atrás de vídeos, descobri que era Português, mecânicos nacionais, filmagens do nosso querido Porto, só me deixou mais orgulhoso. Provavelmente um dos melhores Canais do KZbin relacionado com o mundo das motos, neste caso "Cafe Racer". This new Royal Enfield really intrigues me. I think, it is what Triumph originally intended the new Bonneville to be. Then, over time the new Bonnie has become a water cooled beast! Not all bad, but not a light weight bike either. I really appreciate your un-biased opinion of this bike. I would enjoy seeing one in person and getting the chance just to sit on one, much less ride it! As always, thank you for Racer TV, the Café Racer’s only choice! Eu próprio testei essa RE Interceptor 650 no Porto em Fevereiro e no dia seguinte fiz uma reserva da Interceptor com o depósito de cor preta , passado um mês exactamente ela já estava no stand. Já a tenho à 3 semanas e estou a adorar a mota. Dentro das motas deste estilo (modern classic) no mercado, acho que a relação qualidade preço destas RE são de facto algo único. A RE vai aproveitar a potencialidade deste motor e penso que nos próximos anos iremos ter mais RE com este motor mas com designs e propósitos diferentes.

I've been looking at different reviews on these bikes. Always positive. Even "Heavy duty" magazine here in Australia was at the launch in Sydney and the man rode an Interceptor back to Melbourne (taking 2 days in a lazy ride). That magazine in really a HARLEY DAVIDSON mag but the reporter man LOVED the Enfield! Just out of curiosity, have you seen the new Kawasaki W 800 café yet?

I think it would be great if they created a special class on tracks around the world that would only allow this motorcycle. A budget racer class Like the Volkswagen Formula Vee series....
