Straight up!!! Took the words right out me mouth. This looks so so delicious and flavor-respecting recipe!! Idk I mean in the way that each flavor has its moment to shine, not too many layers or seasonings. Of course we love seasonings but honoring the natural taste of each layer is sooo sick!! Hahah I know nothing about culinary but this is so intriguing to me!! I hope we both end up making it!! Cheers 🌿🐈‍⬛🫂

You're absolutely right about holidays!! My mom's been making pot roast for dinner on Christmas day for close to 20yrs now. When I was younger & all our relatives lived closer we'd all gather at my grandma's & have a big pitch in dinner. We'd all bring a dish or two & grandma baked a large ham & made homemade rolls. After my grandmother passed away in '05 & my aunts & uncles moved away over the next few years for work & marriage it became just me, my wife & our 3 kids going to my moms on Christmas day. So my mother started a tradition by making a pot roast in a crackpot w/the usual potatoes & carrots & my grandma's homemade roll recipe. Now each year my kids look forward to that Christmas pot roast dinner at their grandma's 🎅🤶 🎄🎄

For people new to cooking and wanting to make something luxurious for themselves or like a dinner party, pot roast is 100% the way to go. The most expensive part is going to be the meat, ofc, but a large piece of chuck will result in a lot of food. It's usually simple and easy to make and has the benefit of being able to just sit on the stovetop or in a warm oven for a while, so if you're making dinner for a lot of people, you don't have to freak out about timing.

@@Antiope1969why are potatoes and carrots considered “not classy”? You could make some great caramelized carrots and roasted potatoes. And moreover, they don’t need to be prepared with frills to be classy. “Fancy” is just an aesthetic projected onto food, because most recipes share the same basic ingredients - sure, this one has mushroom powder, and shallots instead of onions, but pot roast is always pot roast.

Do you mention what the roast is? I’m thinking chuck roast but I’m not sure. I listened 3x and the talking is so fast but I do love your cooking. Do you list the ingredients somewhere?

Looks great. When I think of pot roast I always think of the beef, along with potatoes, carrots, onions and celery(maybe not celery, I may be confused on that part, or maybe I'm special-in the head 🤔)... but yours looks great too.
