I'm a CA mentally disabled homeless person who was Jailed 3 times in three months for nothing. I was first arrested 6/2/23. Preliminary is going to be determined 9/20/23. I was homeless from 1/13/22 to 10/15/23. I finally got my SSDI 3/1/23. If I didn't get my back pay I would still be in jail. He is a homeless mental health joke. They are trying to lock me up for being homeless and having a mental health problem. I have no criminal record. Just a mental health record. They keep arresting us over and over for nothing serious. So they can lock us up. That's their solution to the homeless problem. House the in jail

I'm not a lifelong resident of California, but 22 years. I have to say despite the complications and I'm currently out of work this is the best state I've ever lived in. @jason.... if you're not happy here then just leave. Yes it does suck and you probably won't be able to come back, but I think you're going to like it better here. I've lived in several states over my 65 years, including the Deep South and as far up as New York. Nothing beats California. Nothing.

I don't know any friends who've experienced crime. I only know one coworker, out of 200, that only recently has been a victim of crime (her Tesla was hacked). My neighborhood is great, has tons of amenities and beautiful parks to hike in. Great culture, fabulous food, great shopping. It can be expensive, but we make twice as much as we would make elsewhere for the same work, so we're still ahead. Love it here. And I didn't think I would. I've also lived in number of different areas, the northwest and New York City. I thought I would only be here for a few years before looking for a job elsewhere. But we're here to stay, probably for good.

For example, if you call the police, it's best if they don't come right away. Make it so frustrating that people will avoid calling the police as much as possible and the stats will look good. I've never seen this version of 1984 before. I lived in California for 35 years until 2022. There were many moments when I wanted to flee the garbage state, but my breaking point was when a homeless drug addict smoked an illicit substance(likely deadly fentanyl) 2 feet away from my wife and I as we rode public transit to the San Diego Padres baseball stadium downtown. After we got off the trolley, we were met by homeless encampments filled with drug addicted zombies on every corner downtown. Traffic is terrible, roads are crumbling, police cannot police, crime is out of control. No working-class taxpayer can afford a house in a decent neighborhood. The disparity between the rich and poor is worse in California than it is in third-world countries. Oh, and you'll pay higher taxes in California than you will in any other state in our nation. Which is a good thing. High speed rail will reduce the trip between San Francisco and Los Angeles to only 3 hours, making commutes between major metropolitan centers easier and faster while reducing carbon emissions and gridlock traffic on the freeways. Check out the number of people leaving CA the last five years. Most people with a job or career cannot just pull up and leave - they have family and in some cases children in school. Moving is a major life event. All my retired friends are leaving. The rich are leaving. The companies are leaving. Soon it will just be the homeless and suckers paying all the ridiculous taxes.
