Was coming to make that exact comment. His hand is toward the back when he catches her so it's very hard to see. Easiest to pick it out under Pomni's glove where her wrist is. Her wrist is the same color as his glove but you can see it at either side of the wrist. Narratively after hearing all four of them give respects to Kaufmo Pomni sees them now as people who actually care one of their number was lost and that they legitimately look out for each other. Perhaps initially after seeing Kaufmo just unceremoneously and seemingly carelessly discarded by Caine she thought the others didn't care it happened, and that they wouldn't care if she abstracted either, but now that she sees there is legitimate care between them she feels like she can trust them to be there.

11:07 I do have my own theory about this. As Gooseworx has said, Jax is 22, and was only 17 when he entered the Circus, being probably the youngest there. He entered with a friend though, but his friend abstracted, and now he doesn't like funerals because they remind him of his friend, leaning into his inmature side. Also, as DeepCut said on his last theories, Jax is aware that humans can't be physically damaged in the Circus, and he just wreaks havoc because he doesn't understand the mental damage he provokes into his human companions, or simply doesn't care, and he just wants a rush of adrenaline, because he's so bored and full of it. Look guys, I'm not saying Jax is a good person, I'm just trying to find out his reasons to be a bad one, I like him as a character.

I agree with this, and I feel him and kafoomoo were actually pretty close, in their own sense anyways….i also feel they both shared similar interests, as in they both want out. Like you said, he is sick of being stuck in the circus. 5 years in a digital universe can do wonders on a young mind, not to mention how long the others have been stuck their, I believe he and kaffmoo were looking for the exit together for a period of time, but Jax gave up. And decided to just be a Jackass, but kafmoo kept trying, and eventually he saw the same exit as Pomni. And like her went after it, but it kept vanishing or it was the fake one Caine made (I believe he’s smarter then he lets on) and kept trying to use that one, and just went insane…..so that’s why had doesn’t want to be at the funeral, because he had been his friend but left him to his own devices, and feels guilt about that…..that’s just me

look at Jax's face on 11:10 in slow motion. He looks depressed. My theory at first was it might be a way of grieving for him. Plus, i think Kaufmo and him got pretty close by kind of pushing each other around playfully, Jax would've liked the thrill of the game, without the hate that comes with it. And Kaufmo would've been happy to play, and felt good knowing he downgraded bullying for the others. That's why the others are so mad with Jax's behavior, it wasn't all that bad when Kaufmo would let him take it out, while not being hated for venting and taking out anger. So to Jax, losing someone you depend on and never being able to have them back is rough, but i think another reason he hated it is your theory, not only not wanting to believe a person is "dead". I think another reason the funrual of his spawn buddy hurt so bad in the past was it might've been the first funrual he'd been to, which makes it feel even worse when the first is the worst one, and he have to carry that with him forever now. i also think you both make very good and possible points :) just adding my own thoughts to them

In the painting, Peter (the one who denied him) and Judas (the actual traitor) are actually both on the same side- off to Jesus’ right. If the positions in the show are supposed to reflect that, it would mean that Kinger and Gangle fulfill those roles. HOWEVER, in the painting, Thomas (Doubting Thomas) is sitting on the other side of Jesus. Jax could very well be a doubting Thomas character.

Jax's hand is the only one that didn't grab on to Pomni's hand towards the end of the episode, meaning that Pomni doesn't see Jax as a friend and doesn't trust him (for now), which makes sense due to Jax acting like a jerk towards everyone and especially after he deliberately threw her out of the candy truck in episode 2.

I kind of saw Caine as an interesting broken AI. One made to interact with humans, but a flawed understanding of humanity and unable to figure out what he is doing wrong. The humans or 'brain scans' have no human memories for him to work off of. Just emotions and personalities. He has guidelines for what makes a human happy and his current progress is more likely out of repeated failures rather than true understanding. Which is why he sort of freaks out when humans do not play his games and why he seems rather distressed at the idea of messing up or unable to tell a human apart from an NPC. A broken AI trying to follow its programming with a situation now made within his understanding. Curious to see how he goes. Especially since he seems to understand pain is bad, hunger sucks... And yet makes digital food to make people experience the sensation of eating and drinking despite the lack of a need for it.

So... i have a theory that expands on this one, and its based on how jax reacted to the funeral. Im thinking that, unlike what most are thinking, its that Klaufo and Jax were close friends and he doesnt want to hear something that he would consider "fake" being said about his friend. Although not confirmed, this hinges on them having been brought into the game at the same time and having grown to live in it because they were together. I forget which book but there is a tale of the scorned lover who burned the city to the ground for not having wept like she did upon her heroic husbands death... unaware that they were crying, they were just holding a strong and honorable face just as her husband wouldve wanted to see. In this instance the story of the scorned lover would be Jax and klaufo... but in more of an essence of a scorned brother. Coming from someone who loves his brother... if we were pulled into a video game with no hopes of escape and my brother lost his mind........ id want to destroy the game, to cause a much havoc and mayhem, and to sew as much chaos as i possibly could, before eventually losing myself too. Its odd to me, honestly... if this theroy is correct, then Jax should know that he also has a new family, as insensitive as it is, family isnt what your born into... its the people and friends you choose and those whom stand by you when your hurting, its the people who will raise you up for the smallest of victories, its the people who will help you through the pain and be that shoulder to cry on for you... it took me a very long time to learn this... but Jax and i seem rather similar (him being the obvious extreme) But... hey thats just a theory. my quick answer to this is that caine is god to candy world which make sense cause he legit created the world as an adventure for his fellow circus mate, what curious me more is that since caine are able to create anything/everything in the digital world doesnt mean that caine is part of the digital creation itself? or caine most likely to be the very first human to be transported into the digital world and have already been through alot till the point he became insane and develop a whole new character for himself which is the ringmaster and create this whole circus gig for even more human that stumble on so he can guide them to adapt to their new life more then just being abstracted and get thrown in the cellar among other's human in the past

If we're to go off of the Last Supper imagery for the characters and their biblical counterparts, then while Jax has the hallmarks of Judas, he's in the wrong space. Judas was on the left side of Jesus in the painting, think where Gangle and Kinger are. And as much as it could be an error, Gooseworks doesn't seem like they'd let something that big slip. That means Jax could be one of possibly three figures: Philip, James Major or Thomas. Philip doesn't really fit, after all he's a methodical logician, who convinced others to follow Jesus and distributed the fish and bread during the miracle. He could be James Major, who was one of the three disciples who was present for the Transfiguration. That was when Jesus was on a mountain top and became all radiant with glory and such. That could be a hint to Pomni's eventual ascension. It could also be a hint that he gets Pomni to "transform" into an Abstracted version of herself. However, I think the most plausible of the three if this route is correct is Thomas. Or as we better know him as *Doubting* Thomas. Doubting Thomas is an incredibly important figure, as he represents the skeptics. He refused to believe that Jesus had been resurrected until he could feel his wounds and see him with his own eyes. Jax seems like the kind of individual who's disillusioned with what he's experiencing, especially in the Digital Circus. His fascination with breaking the worlds rules and causing chaos is like a toddler testing their limits. Seeing how much their world can take. Jax is skeptical about the world he now lives in and takes to breaking it and doubting it's worldbuilding, as a means to seek joy and intrigue. Doubting Thomas even has roots in Gnosticism due to many Gnostic authors being insistent that he never even examined Jesus. His story as a whole is to teach about the importance of faith, of having faith *in* someone. If this is the route he's going, and he's supposed to represent the cynical nuts who are supposed to be punished in this reality, then his leap of faith, his lesson in faith, is to trust in Pomni, and by extension, the others.. To put his cynical and violence driven antics aside to get the best ending. And for added food for thought, Thomas is a *martyr.*

Have you considered that maybe the game has only been for a few minutes, but in the computer, time is perceived to move faster so 5 min to use could be a year
