I hear you brother, i'm 5'4 140 and train with animals...every once in awhile you will snatch someones back and get your RNC, or fight someone who is actually your size and dominate them, and that brief glimpse of glory keeps us going for the rest of the sessions getting owned.

Yeees when you're small and you finally get on someone's back in the roll 😁😁😁

Yeah I’m. 5’4 150 n it’s frustrating but luckily I’m by far the quickest in my gym n it really helps my game

Very good point is wanting to train....you first have to want to get better and also understanding the time and effort it takes to get better....when you study jiujitsu you dont win or lose...you teach or you learn....greatness takes time and effort

I had never heard of Caio Terra, so I did a bit of reading about him. I can't believe how many titles he's won, completely ridiculous for his age. When I do get back in BJJ (soon I hope) at a new gym - I'm going to follow your advice and focus on technique. Being beaten up does take getting used to though - I took it for a while as a white belt training with mostly blue and purple belts, but one day I got smashed so hard - I left the gym and could hardly walk. I think that's why I quit BJJ for a while. Much respect Caio, and best of luck bro.

"there's no strength that will stop you" it's true. And Caio Terra along with Rafa Mendes have the best technique out of anyone I've ever seen. Everything is so sharp with 0 fat in it.

I already had an admiration for Caio, after seeing this it just gave me more respect for him and his thought process.

I'm amazed truly on how such a young dude has so much wisdom. I'm fairly new to the lifestyle and I believe everything he is saying about technique over strength and speed. I just need to keep that on the forefront of my mind whenever I train because sometimes it gets passed me and I catch myself relying more on power over technique. Thank you for posting this video.

Parabéns, Caio. É bom encontrar alguém tão novo no jiujitsu a pensar assim sobre a vida.

Thanks. I do train once a week! But online helps give me ideas and options for next week. Yeah, it's great having someone you can ask a question to that may not be covered in a video.

That's some good stuff. One of the best things I've heard from another wise individual was... "Sadly, wisdom doesn't come with Age contrary to popular belief, it only comes when you're ready to accept the truth. Most people grow old sound asleep letting their ego do the talking, so their words have no meaning"
@bornfedslaughter11 жыл бұрын
I'm glad he said he went and did it on his own and studied from the internet because my blue belt friend called me a hipster for wanting to learn bjj online since I can't train all the time. It makes me feel good that world champions and everyone goes online, and not just hipsters or assholes that feel like bjj is only for them and no one else. Caio is cool.

Yeah totally! I learned the "calf crusher" from the internet. In fact I'd never even heard of it until I started looking up wrestling online and then saw "submission wrestling" stuff. I learned all kinds of stuff that is useful in Jujitsu that I'd never even heard of in my Jujitsu class because it's not technically "Jujitsu" stuff. Train hard, and stay healthy, man! =)

It's true that you can learn a LOT of things from online videos. Through online research, you can be exposed to new and different techniques from every corner of the earth, the internet is a great tool to learn! And BJJ is for EVERYONE! Although all of this is true, there is no substitue for a personal, face to face instruction. A physical person to practice with and stuff is very important. Please keep watching and learning all you can online! But make it a goal to eventually get into a class!
