It is a gem within the city, I highly suggest googling aerial photos or using Google Maps to look from above. www.google.com/maps/place/Al+Azhar+Park/@30.040758,31.2647327,3119m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xb4b5fcbc7769a0b2!8m2!3d30.040758!4d31.2647327

This park walk is phenomenal. Great views for the entire city, great lighting, and all around a really grand design. The little fountain areas with kids to playing was beyond adorable. Truly enjoyed my experience watching this, thanks for sharing.

The entire Nile is super lush and green. From the Delta in the North all the way South (which is why its known as the cradle of civilization and the breadbasket of the Roman Empire).

Thank you for. show me some places I never saw. Park is beautiful and they should add another fifty around the country . Loved your walk in cemetery I always admire this place but unfortunately as is Egyptian we were advised not to go there for safety. Keep the good wander full work you are doing we really enjoy it. God bless and stay safe

This is the park built on top of the ancient garbage dump, right?

Yea ! The Aga Khan Development Foundation acquired the land and built this ancient inspired park on top of over 500 years of garbage.

@Ghost Ghost That's too true, it is important to remember that the Rosetta Stone was found in a rubbish wall. Without it we still to date would have never been able to decipher ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. Many people criticize the Aga Khan development fund for building the park. Privatization over public.

@@4KWorldWanderings The AKDN has spearheaded many infrastructural projects across the globe that has not only benefited developing countries. The transformation of Cairo's Al Azhar Park epitomizes the vision of His Highness the Aga Khan, whose ancestors built the city of Cairo and the world's second oldest university therein.
