You can Dodge with Cait Sith on the Moogle by simply moving your Left Stick in front of an enemy. Spent 20 hours working on this video and didn't mention this simple tip.

You can also perfect block with the Moogle while Cait Sith is casting a spell. Defense as Cait Sith is vital as it's different from every other character with the dodge dismounting you and the pirouette spin away with left stick granting invulnerability frames.

Cait Sith really is a great character to use so it’s a shame a lot of people write him off. I think it’s because he doesn’t start on the Moogle, and a lot of people won’t think to put ATB increasing materia on him to start off with a Let’s Ride! Admittedly, if you don’t do this and start off with just Cait Sith, certain enemies are an absolute pain because he’s slow and it takes a little while to build ATB from his ranged attacks. It’s not unbearable but compared to the other characters who don’t need that build up it is slightly noticeable. For part 3 I think they will adjust the combat slightly and for Cait Sith there’s a few options I’d like to see. 1. Let him start every battle on top of the Moogle. I don’t think it makes him OP, but let’s him get into the fight right away without the need for additional materia/items. 2. Give him something similar to Tifa where he has a chance to enter the battle already on the Moogle, or even randomise his ATB at the start of every battle to really lean into the luck stuff. That being said, I think he’s a great character for some of the longer battles, but can be tedious without the right items if using him for normal gameplay and random battles. Great guide though! Was fun to have him be basically a limit break battery for other characters I was fighting with. I always got his limit break up super fast so cue a Limit Siphon if I really needed a specific one fast. Anytime I didn't have him in a fight he was helping me level up some materia with the chocobo armband and ap up. Dudes just super helpful no matter what you want to do with him. Such a great improvement from the original game.

After 200 hours and even completing the legendary and brutal challenges… had no clue you can see the moogle health haha. Cait has so many cool or interesting moves… too bad setting all his moves up is literally never needed or worth the trouble when there are much quicker or better options available at any given time.

Cait Sith’s Limit Breaks also have different outcomes Magic Mogbox - Moogle Plush - Send out an exploding moogle plushie to one enemy that deals heavy damage - Rockets - Sends out rocket missiles to multiple enemies that deals multiple light damage Mega Magic Mogbox - Black Hole - Gathers all enemies on the field to one point and explodes dealing a massive explosion - Plushie Rain - Rain down plushies that deals light damage and huge stagger Giga Magic Mogbox - Fat Chocobo - Summons Fat Chocobo and deals gigantic damage

I absolutely love Cait Sith and think he brings a lot more value to my gameplay style personally in comparison to everyone else. I love random things that sort of just happen, and in my first playthrough (still ongoing) it was a lot of discovery and a lot of "what just happened" when doing some crazy damage. He has a weird learning curve, but I quickly learned that putting First Strike and things similar to that to start off with Boogie (love the moogles name btw) by summoning him in a crowd to generate ATB from the slam, then following up with Haste + Magnify materia from a different party member, summoning the moogle again to get ATB again from the slam causing a near infinite ATB loop if enemies were stacked on top of each other, made easy by Yuffie's Windstorm ability who has also become a staple in my party. The Dice ability is just so good and offers only upsides (except Hypurr Beam imo) with good offensive moves, healing and immunity from a lot of moves in this game, Lucky Slots is decent if you know the timings or you can just have him use it while not in control and just not worry about it (you will get cat scratch which is eh but if you dont wanna worry about timing then it is fine), Lady Luck for just a good general damage increase, I mean this character is personally just a lot of fun for me. Sure he may not be the BEST pick, but for my first playthrough, I am having a blast with him as my primary character. I am not going super crazy and trying to min max this game and have had the most fun just using Cait Sith. I was hesitant on him at first thinking he was kinda useless, but experimented a lot more and found a lot of value to be had. Sure he isn't an insanely consistent character and my feelings *may* change come my hard mode playthrough, but for playing semi-casually and just going through the motions, this character is perfect for me

I rarely get good comments like these especially long ones where I can instantly tell the viewer is locked in to the game they're playing. Yes I agreed, Hypurr Beam is utterly useless compared to everything else but that's the Gamble part of the role I suppose. He's also a staple in my party as well. Thanks yeah he's one of those characters I felt players may avoid but once they see just how powerful he is with the constant party buffs he quickly becomes a must in any party setup imho.

Right? Also sleep, because of him I was able to enjoy Aerith HP/MP convert, reprieve, provoke with Red13.. those brutal combat against 2 rare fiends mindflayer/marlboro etc was fun because of this.. sleep/stop/debrave/defaith pretty useful as only haste and barrier is really only what you need..

Issue with Caith Sith is his Moogle’s buff take a lot of time to charge. Could’ve been better if this skills can be easily triggered. This will make him a top tier character as you don’t need magnify to buff your partymates. I also think that the dices should be separate. A die for offensive elemental spells and a separate die for buffs. That way you can have control.

Something interesting I noticed with Cait: Any skill that does not require the moogle's involvement can be used while riding the moogle and you can still move about and block while doing said ability. I noticed this as I've bound all 4 of the free elemental ability spells to my quick casts and I was able to run around on the moogle still in full control while spamming them. (someone below mentioned hard spell casts also work this way, -aga's and such) Another fun one: Moogle Kaboom doesn't care how the moogle goes away, it will still detonate. So what you can do is prime Kaboom, and later if you use the dodge skill to avoid an attack, the moogle then goes in hits the enemy, then gets dismissed, which then detonates it for a second blast of damage. super fun Question though: Does anyone know if the Accessory that boosts summon damage will also boost the damage of the summon if it comes in from cait siths skill as opposed to the full summon cast?

No the accessory for summons doesn't work. I tried multiple times as i wanted to recommend that accessory but from my testing I saw little to no increase hence It didn't make it in the video.

I love cute non human party members so much and even I could not stand Cait Sith in the original. I can’t tell you how happy I am they corrected him the biggest fix being no abducting Marlene as blackmail. That one made it really hard to get behind his redemption. His reasoning for stealing the keystone is also much more sympathetic and understandable.

It's not on the Folio it's a weapon skill you obtain from one of his weapons.
