If you can't make a layup automatically, then practicing three point shots is a waste of time. Work on your layups from both sides with both hands. Chances are that there are other players that can knock down the long shots at a much higher frequency.
@alexstuart497715 күн бұрын
Why is it a waste of time? Why can't she work on both.. In order to get there she has to start somewhere.. She's getting older everyday, at some point it may all gel together or it wont. Say you would like to see her working on finishing around the rim more..
@Didymus615 күн бұрын
@alexstuart4977 The season will be here before you know it. Her bread and butter is getting rebounds and putting it back in the basket. It looks like stat padding when it takes several attempts to get it in the basket from five feet away. That's why a lot of people don't give her credit for all of the double doubles. She is free to practice three point shots, but other players that consistently make them would be the first , second, and third choices to take the longer shots in games. They generally are smaller players and would get abused under and around the basket.
@jbrock859614 күн бұрын
@@alexstuart4977 OK, maybe not exactly a "waste of time", but her strongest asset on the court is rebounding so she is a hell of a lot more likely to get the ball closer to the hoop since that is where she wants to go anyway. I agree with the OP that being able to reliably make shots with either hand from 5 feet in would be a priority.
@lisafields937714 күн бұрын

Sorry Rachel, the first time we disagree. The talent level is not higher... There may be an argument that the shooting skills are higher, on average, however - 1. This only applies to the average. The top shooters of the past 4 decades are on par with those of today. 2. The top 10 to 25% of players from the last 4 decades would generally beat the top 10 to 25% of players today. 3. The players of the past, excepting the bottom 25%, had better passing, lane running, defending, and understanding of the rules of the game. 4. The biggest difference (between now and the past) is the Bigs. The top 10 to 25% of bigs, from the past 5 decades, would decimate this league. This is very much why we see so much dominance from Joker and Wemby who, good as they are, are by no means up to the level of past great centers. In simple terms, it is easy for a big to dominate a league that offers no paint defense. Further to this. It is easy to drive the lane (and skyrocket shooting percentages) when there is no strong paint defense. 5. Rules of the game. If the players of today had to play by the fundamental rules of the game - not charging, not traveling/carrying, not flopping, etc. they would be steamrolled by players of other eras... because today's players have become so depending on breakign the rules. Watch players now, they come up the court not just with their hand on the side of the ball, but all the way underneath (watch Luka, Ball, or 100 others). Of course if a player can carry the ball at will they can make more extreme lateral movements. This is not ballhandling, in the sense of being within the rules of the game. Add to this that defense has been handcuffed and the lightest touch fouls are met with a stunt flop and 50 whistles per game. I'm not sure why people entertain this narrative. Look at the playoff teams of past decades. Imagine what would happen to the top teams of this era going up against those teams.

After all most of her rebounds are from her own misses. She needs to do a thousand a day looking at the basket, looking away from the basket. She needs to be so in tune with where she is that she can shoot from anywhere inside the paint. As of right now i dont trust her at all. I feel bad for Lexi to have to be on a team of Caitlin haters. Maybe it's just a style difference in the video's shot selection (they're not showing everything) or maybe a difference in the development coach's style, but I don't see the show and tell from the coach that we see in the Caitlin video. He's just throwing her the ball, and appears to just be giving her some verbal cheerleading. There might be some instructional advice being said, but imo that doesn't have as much impact as the "I demonstrate, now you try thing" We see with Caitlin's coach. @@Chitownarmyvet I hope she gets paid on all these clicks of haters posting about her. She should be the richest female athlete very soon if that is true.
@Momula10115 күн бұрын
Nobody post a highlight reel of post moves be serious and shes shooting more because thats what the new coach is trying to implement (and 3v3) into the offense to help free up the middle for Cardoso but that dont mean Angel will live out there. A lot of time last season Angel would hang on the perimeter but if she can be even a minor threat defender wont be no keen to sag off leaving Cardoso more space.
@ElizabethHuffman-v2m14 күн бұрын
Angel should be working on improving her post moves and maybe midrange shots. Use her height and athleticism to her advantage. Once she maximizes those skills, then she could add the 3 point shot to her arsenal. She does need to fine tune her technique/mechanics as it’s not as smooth and natural as it should be.
@jeangrey595213 күн бұрын
She said she’s transitioning back to her natural position, the position she played before LSU put her at Center, she said she doesn’t want to be stuck in the post, remember she’s only 165lbs at 6’3, so I think she knows what she’s doing.

Angel deleted her IG to start a buzz bc she knew that she was about to drop her vogue cover. Marketing at its finest. Love Reese. Reese is a great bb player. I have been watching Reese and her little brother who be drafted also since st Francis. Reese is for the culture and I’m so happy that little girls are seeing her tap into every avenue of interest. As boys we’re taught to be all that we want to be but women have to put themselves in a box. Good job, Angel.

The backlash was solely because of her complaints of being sexualized. Had she not complained, no one would care how much skin she showed
@alexstuart497715 күн бұрын
If people understood why she said she was being sexualized would make sense.. Everyone on the other sides understands why she said that.. She said someone made nudes of her and they were circulated she didn't know until a family member told her.. Since then she's never mentioned anything about being sexualized unless it referenced that moment.. So the issue is people dont listen..

Rachel, no offense and I’m glad you’re supporting a fellow woman but as of this very moment, Angel is a clown and a narcissist. She has a high motor that helps her grab rebounds (including her own missed layups) but she is not a skilled basketball player and we can all see it! Shooting set-shot midrange and three pointers in a closed gym environment ain’t gonna help her get better in a WNBA game. If she wants to be a model who is always wearing little clothing or a podcaster, great but then she needs to quit pretending to be a professional basketball player. Can Angel do both, sure, but she needs to improve her athleticism, footwork, and post moves, not a three point shot which she won’t be doing in a game! 🙄

Yeah you definitely are a not a basketball fan based off this insane comment. Nobody who cares about the sport and watches it would look at angel and say she is a bad player. Almost every basketball players has something positive to say about her INCLUDING CC. In my Honest opinion, NBA players that were playing during the late 2000s are disappearing and the Current players are Young, Brash, and don't have a Brand and often become Immature On/Off the Courts. Now I don't really like to judge people but the NBA has really just Gone Soft, Unsportsmanlike,Feminine Almost, Too many Fights happening. And a Lack of being Original.
