If she hadn't been pulled against Arizona, she would have been the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple double. She's breaking WNBA records left and right. Dont forget, Angel is touted as a defensive player, which CC is bashed for. Yet, Angel has like 4 blocks & 26 steals, while CC has 18 blocks & 28 steals. And Angel is much taller and lives in the post. How is this stat even possible? As for turnovers, MJ had 291 turnovers in his rookie year. Jason Kidd had a record 14 turnovers in 1 game. I dont care about that. I've watched every game and seen Caitlin's teammates play. They stink and could not catch a pass or convert to save their lives on most days. Angel gets so many rebounds for 3 reasons: 1) she gets her own misses ALL the time, from 2 feet away, so her shooting is god awful 2) in the WNBA, there are an ungodly amt of missed shots 3) Cardoso is ALWAYS doubled in the post, so Angel as a clear path to rebounds

I'm retired From coaching collegiate track and field since 1978. If you coach that long you are able to observe physical capabilities of athletes. I never watched the WNBA or the women's NCAA March madness. Well I live one state over from Iowa and then unless you're brain dead you have heard of Caitlin Clark so I watch last year's NCAA final that was the only game and this year never watched a regular season game I only watch March madness and I followed Caitlin Clark and Iowa through the bracket. Now the NFL hasn't started yet An unbelievably I find myself watching WNBA games. I watch Caitlin Clark games but I'm also watching other games that she's not in but some of the best players are in and I wouldn't be doing that if it wasn't for Caitlin Clark. Angel Reese can't get off the ground She's slow Her athletic abilities at playing basketball while good are not like Clarks Clark plays like a man. Interesting story I had a heptathlete black girl from TC Williams high school remember the Titans. Indoors we shared the facility with volleyball Now this girl was about 6 foot 3 maybe 6 foot 4. We were getting a little tired of the volleyballs rolling over onto our track. So she grabbed one of the volleyballs and looked at me and said watch this coach and she took that volleyball and two hand slam dunk that thing on one of the side goals grabbed onto the rim flipped it up. I can understand the comments from women basketball players and coaches about CC. They are a bit afraid of her, hence the guarding her almost on the entire pitch, and when she approaches the 3-point line, sometimes two or even three opponents try to guard her in panic. In such a situation, the athletes's or coaches statements are, to some extent, a kind of sports psychological war that CC must learn to deal with. But what the media and WNBA officials are doing is simply a scandal. The Fever WAS above the sun a couple of weeks ago, but McNutt was still saying Angel Reese. People have their favorites, and they create the narrative to support it. Just having TWO Rookies in contention is such a fantastic bonus for the league. Personally, I’d split it. Looking at both the Fever and the Sky's schedules this season .. if we assign points to each opponent team in the league equal to their current place in the standings (1-12) we can get an idea of the relative difficulty of each team's 2024 schedule. If we sum these numbers over 18 games (what the Sky has completed thus far) we can see the Sky had a considerably easier schedule, especially the first 5 games of the season. Summing the Fever's opponents over the first 18 games gives 103. The Sky's opponent total is 122. The lower the number the more difficult the schedule. Over the first 5 games where the Fever played the No. 1 and No. 2 teams twice each plus the Storm ... the total is a scant 10. Chicago Sky has had an easy season so far. The next five weeks we'll see about the standings. ROTY isn't until the end of the year, so we will see. There is no doubt Angel Reese has made an impact as a rookie on her team, but if you talk about impact on her team AND WNBA Caitlin Clark wins.

One thing that drives me crazy in evaluating players, is to declare that a player must have won a team championship (usually at the highest level, like NCAA for college, Super Bowl, World Series, NBA/WNBA FInals, World Cup, Stanley Cup, etc. for pros) to be considered the greatest player in whatever sport they play, in a specified period of time. To me, that's absurd. But the common consensus seems to be that it makes sense. We have an example in Caitlin Clark, who broke nearly every record, and won nearly every award possible in NCAA Div. I basketball, including Player of the Year, which indicates she was the greatest player in college basketball, in 2023 and 2024. Yet most people say she can't be considered the greatest because Iowa didn't win the NCAA Championship in those years. That's ridiculous to me. It's apples and oranges. First of all, there is no such thing as the Greatest of All Time (GOAT), because that is indeterminant; "all time" has not yet occurred. All you can determine is who is the Greatest (player) Of Their Era (GOTE), or of a particular year. You determine that a player is the greatest of their era (GOTE) based upon their individual accomplishments (commonly judged by their stats), not based upon their team's accomplishments (commonly judged by winning a championship). Furthermore, if individual awards (like GOTE player) are to be given, they are, by definition, not team awards (like GOTE team), and vice versa. In summary, I have no respect for people who believe a player cannot be judged as the GOTE player unless their team won a championship (the GOTE team). Those are two separate awards, judged by different criteria as specified above.

Funny thing is, season ended today Fever are in the playoffs. You have to subtract the last 3 games Fever played. When you do that Sky/Fever have the same record. Tie breaker goes to the Fever 😂

CC and AR are Rookies. There are areas for improvement for both. However, CC has an all-around bb game and has made a tremendous impact on making her teammates better. Whereas, AR's performance impacts only herself and does not have an all-around bb game. AR is a project player, whereas CC is not. If CC's teammates caught her "Dime" passes and made the easy layups, the Fever's wins would be much better.
