Women's college basketball is really fun right now. Women's soccer is really fun too. This level of play makes the WNBA's future look much brighter. The collegiate aspect really brings in a lot of regional pride, which has a built in emotional investment, but the actual play is getting really exciting. It just goes to show how actual patient investment in development infrastructure top to bottom will improve the overall quality of the whole sport. People have been making WNBA jokes for a long time, but we are seeing the result of investing in the game, to bring this type of talent along. I am happy for all the athletes. But having a transcendent superstar that transforms the game and the sport is the key to reaching new levels. Ronda Rousey for MMA is a great example.
