I love it when comedians appear to go off on another line of thought and then circle back around to connect the two lines. Usually I don't like comedians who capitalize on anything related to sexism. Like gender, preferences, beauty standards or old stereotypes. The jokes are mostly cheap. But Caitlin delivers a consistent performance, she knows how to play her role, and, as a man, I feel intimidated... and aroused. Good stuff.

She's not, however those of us without thigh-gap get called "overweight." For our whole lives. We have to laugh it off, or we'll lose our minds. Think about the advertising and the movies and the tv shows. All of the women are uncomfortably thin, right?

no. she is fairly muscular, and maybe is a bit taller and has a bit bigger bone structure than the average woman, but she is definitely not big

Ange Waters yeah the image of women that media pushes is gross, they look skeletal. Not that women should feel the need to cater to the male gaze, but IMO a nice healthy girl like her is way more attractive than the bony monsters in the magazines

She has a lot of potential, but she's not quite there yet. That beginning was very strong, but after about 6 minutes, it still feels like we're in the midst of the opening joke. The camping jokes were great, but the transition was pretty clunky and it didnt really feel like it was going anywhere. the commenters saying shes terrible are just looking for an excuse to hate her because shes making jokes for women. She really is talented, it just feels pretty unpolished right now. let her work the standup circuit for another year and she'll be fantastic. it feels like she's pretty new to standup
@JamesMichaelDoyle6 жыл бұрын
lol except I knew I would find you spamming other comments. you are so full of shit kara. all the ones that elaborate fully, are posted by men. and have a pile of thumbs up, so they are at the top, there is no way that you found your way to the comments you are posting your victim narrative in without seeing them. the recap of them? too much pointing, its not a small club, and even if it was, she relied on it too much. too many "oh yeah!" like she is the koolaid man, or macho man randy savage. that awkward pointing at a dude, and rushing up to him telling him he has to look at her crotch. that by far was the biggest cringe I've ever seen on colberts stage. on top of which, most of the comments that didn't like it were also mentioning that she was likely nervous, as it was her first time on tv. my comment in particular hoped it was just that, and not Stephen taking a bad comic for brownie points. and more to the point, there are plenty of women saying they don't like it, without much or any explanation. there is indeed sexism going on here Kara, but you just lack the self awareness to see it.

Fair comment...to me it felt like she was nervous. Also, the jokes seemed like originally are longer with more sustenance. It seems she may have whittled the jokes down a bit to fit the short stage time. I laughed pretty good and connected with her baseball analogies. I'd watch her on Netflix.
