I love the way you put it. Day6 can embody any emotion in their songwriting. I need someboday is almost always absolutely in my top 2. It just spoke to me and to my experience with depression as well. It really just starts like a whisper and you keep ignore it, until it's a full on breakdown. With I need somebody, it even isn't just about the lyrics, it's the instrumentation too and it's what made me stan them in the first place. I miss listening to them so much. Thank you so much for this Caitlin, it gave me the incentive to listen to them again.

One thing about Letting Go, the song and MV seems to be about the member who left. Like you can see empty micstand, empty keyboards, 6 lockers, and the lyrics I guess are self explanatory

Ahhhh got the majority of my top 5 in this reaction!! So ready to get into it🤩 Also would definitely recommend checking out the rebooted version of Letting Go in your personal time! He was even part of the rap team when they were in jyp vs yg show (ofc he was also in the vocal team, man is so talented) I can even dare say that he's the best rapper in jyp after 3racha. As someone who has dysthymia, I am battling with lonely feeling all the time and when I heard Young K screamed "why am I alone" the first time when I walked home after work, I somehow can feel something inside of me being heard and liberated. Been a loyal Day6 fans after that--and this song never went off of my No. 1 song from them, so I always happy to see anyone hear and appreciate this piece of masterpiece. Day 6 was there on pivotal moments in my life! they have a very special place in my heart, it's like they validate my feelings. I listened to their songs, most of them are sad, when my father was critically ill. I listened to Days Gone By when my father passed to cherish all the good memories I have with him. Time of Our Lives was released on what I think the peak of my youth. They are indeed a very magical band

Always absolutely love your reactions! Young K (bassist, rapper, vocalist, his range is crazy) is also the main songwriter for all of their songs, all members contribute to writing and producing but the amount of songs this man is credited on is crazy (even writing for other artists like GOT7, Xdinary Heroes and more) "I need somebody" is probably one of my all-time favorites! he has some solo stuff out which I would recommend to check out even in your own time

Day6 are just too good are writing touching lyrics like Zombie or I Need Somebody are so good but also... yeah. The need to cry is overwhelming. Touching something in me i don't really want to address you know? I'm so happy you decided to do a double take on Day6! They are incredible! I honestly can't think of a single song of theirs where I went 'hm, don't really care for this, it's a miss'. Seriously, not a single song. One of the things I love about them is they have a song for every mood you're in; you're feeling silly, or lazy, or just happy and want to enjoy life, they have a song for you; you're going through s**t and need a helping hand, they have a song for you... Soooo the first time I heard Letting Go I watched the mv without lyrics, and I still cried my eyes out lol. To this day I can't tell you exactly why it hit me like it did, but it was like you could just hear the story of their heartbreak so clearly in their voices, even if you don't speak the language. Such respect for their artistry.
