KPOP MARATHON | (G)I-DLE), BOBBY, BOYNEXTDOOR, WHEE-IN, & ONEUS | Reaction

So essentially the story of GIDLE’s MV is: Miyeon, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua are former lovers of the man in the video who started out fine, but over time became more monstrous and aggressive. There are theories that he ended the lives of those four based on their scenes in the MV. Drowning Miyeon, choking Soyeon, pushing Yuqi down the stairs, and crashing a car with Shuhua in it. Then Minnie enters the picture. Again, all seems well and that’s what takes us to the wedding scene. But here, she feels the presence of the four other women, and she sees the blood on her hands symbolizing that she might be next at the hands of this man. Her perception changes upon finding the truth about the man she was almost going to marry. Then cut to her aiming the weapon at his head. We cut to them all aiming, hence what they all wanted to do. Upon ending him, tension is relieved, and Minnie has seemingly rid the four other members of their pain knowing that the monster who hurt them is now dead. And lastly we see Minnie waking up on the boat by herself. The other members being there with her was just a dream. But in reality, she ended the life of the man, dodged a bullet, and did what she thought was right. Now the four souls of the members can live in peace, and can be with Minnie to provide strength and comfort for what she did for them and for herself. All in all, they tackled the very heavy issue of SA in South Korea which often goes under the radar and unnoticed.

I've seen this theory a lot and I totally agree with it. But I can't find anybody talking about the lyrics, like, how to they match with everything? Is there any theories or information? I assumed it could be from his point of view or, maybe, the lyrics are meant to be... sarcastic?.. Idk. I like the line "I want you to fall" though, because it can mean literal fall (death, misfortune etc), but it also can be "fall in love". Like, "you fall in love so hard that you start suffering and regretting mistreating me". Something like that.

@@vyckygy6626 I'm just gonna copy paste a comment I wrote to someone asking a similar question: "It's important to remember that often times the victim can attach themselves to their abuser. It's unfortunate but some people think they're not worthy of a normal, healthy relationship and thus fall victim to their abusers who take advantage of that. They might even seek out these shitty people because again, they think that's all they're worth. Some people have a very warped idea of what love is, and to some it means the abuse gets twisted into "Oh he just loves me so much, that's why he's like that" until it's too late... Many victims return to their abusers even after leaving them "He can change, he said he will". It's crazy what manipulation can do to you. I've also seen relationships where both parties are toxic in their own ways. The other mainly physically abusive, but both also manipulative and controlling. They basically eat away at each other while also refusing to let go "because I love them so much"... These people would be the type to consider a healthy relationship boring, because it's safe and doesn't make them walk on eggshells at all times. So yeah. The MV can be about them being killed even with those lyrics. Maybe they're just too hooked in by the man, not able to see him for what he truly is due to the manipulation. Sometimes you just don't see what's right in front of you until it's too late"

@@vyckygy6626I think the lyrics were very sarcastic but real in how the abused would feel, usually when In an abusive relationship the person who is being abused will come back and convince themselves there are many reasons to stay with their abuser. I think that’s what could be hinted at with the title ‘I want that’ throughout the chorus which kind of shows their ambition towards a long lasting love even though they can see it’s not safe or real.

I will shout it from the rooftops that Hwanwoong helped choreograph this Oneus song! He's done it before and I'm so happy the company keeps that faith in him. I felt the connection to the I DO. If you remember their "I DO" MV, there they were an alien girl who could switch appearances. In this MV they're never showed together in one frame, except for the last post-chorus, which could be just for the sake of symbolism. So they're basically all the same girl with different appearances. Whether it's that alien girl from "I DO", who somehow escaped, or is it unrelated P S Y C H O T I C girl who has 5 alternate personalities it's unclear, but she's definitely fell for the guy, who admired her to the point of obsession, and the obsession became abusive, and she decided to kill him and escape to the boat. The bleeding toe is prolly some wound she's got from the explosion, and the gun and the little box in the box are her reminders of all that. She reads the book 'Cest la vie', which means 'this is life', and learns to move on.

According to some Neverlands (Gidle fans) The song and the plot of the video are about how each of the girls falls in love with someone who is clearly not good, the story of each of them except for Minnie is that they all die at the hands of his partner. So she decides to take revenge and destroy him. That's why at the last second we see her alone on the yacht.
