I 100% agree with this take. I don’t think Vi was hooking up with anybody when she’s thinking about Caitlyn that hard and clearly has a different coping mechanism in fighting and drinking herself sick (also the amount she was drinking makes me think she wasn’t ever sober enough to even try to hook up), but especially because I think it’s safe to assume Vi might actually still be a virgin. She did get kidnapped and kept in Stillwater since she was a young teen and likely wasn’t sexually involved with anyone back then either. Her personality doesn’t strike me as the type who would cope with a lost love by sleeping around with no emotional attachments. She’s always been the type to hit and punch her problems away, whereas Caitlyn canonically already has sexual experience but also is in a position of power, prestige and leadership, so she can’t be openly self destructive, that probably leaves her feeling isolated, so she seems prone to make some romantic flings and sneak them into bed, to her mother’s mild disapproval, to feel some kind of excitement and connection.

I joked that Maddie was so cheery during the salute scene because she was trying to get into Cait's pants. Then this episode happened and like: "Damn. She actually took her shot. Respect." Meanwhile, my girlfriend went batshit and yelled "HOMEWRECKER!" And then I quipped, Maddie is not really a homewrecker since the home was already wrecked before she got there. When I first saw Maddie and Caitlyn together, all I could ask was "Why are we doing this?" I get it's a way of showing both Caitlyn and Vi have different ways of dealing with the "break up", but this and more is just ruining Caitlyn's character for me a bit. Justice for Vi. And justice for Maddie, honestly.

She was jailed at like 16, spent time in high security prison kicking Silco's goons asses and crying for Powder, doubtful she had any will to get entangled in that environment. I think womanizer Caitlyn is hilarious. I like when stories twist expectations like this. Cait might be the “sheltered” “pampered” one, and Vi is more “street smart” and comes across as more bold/tough (and more traditionally “masculine”), but the writers made an effort to not just stick them into a stereotype that we have seen a hundred times.

I also think its worth mentioning that you are not necessarily supposed to be happy with Cait’s choices at this point in the story. Its not being framed as empowering or heroic. I think we are supposed to be a bit frustrated with her. It doesn’t ruin her character, we just are not rooting for her right now.

I know I am probably gonna get slammed but I just can't see VI having been with anyone. Even on a "this is just casual sex" level. She was thrown in prison at what 16? I seriously doubt she was trying to do anything in prison. I mean it's stillwater for christ sakes; a prison that lets male and female interact. Sex would have put her in a seriously vulnerable position. Not to mention I'm sure she was on edge 24/7. 7 years later she gets out, meets and falls in love with Cait. Probably her first love which NO ONE moves on from easily if at all. I mean I wouldn't be upset if it's revealed somehow that she has slept with people but I lean towards my own assumption.

I love that Cait is a dom top and Vi is a sub bottom. God I love when they invert expectations on relationship dynamics :). Also it just makes sense if you look at literally any sapphic media but also just it's a human response. People running to the arms of any comfort and pleasure after experiencing a difficult break up. Maddie is literally the most warm coded, open blanket, agreeable manifestation of a character both in design and temperment. Could she be a spy? Sure I can see it. Could she also just be a normal rebound that might further an awkward encounter later on between Cait, Vi and Maddie? That would be fairly fun as well. Cait's story in League is her trying to track down her enemy C who turns out to be in her own workforce so it would make sense if they took that for this as well but replace C with Maddie.
