@@bellatordei3440 as much as I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt, the fact that he can shoot his own brother point blank and going from having 35 million in 2015 to flat broke (he was living in a broom closet when he disappeared) in short 5 years in 2020, he just has too many character flaws to think that wasn't a legitimate discharge (not to mention corruption IS rampant in the police force as we have our own LAPD, NYPD, Chicago PD, on & on attesting to that - those who think otherwise, their corruption cases are well documented fyi)

The reason Ki-hoon dyed his hair red is because the person who saved the homeless man in the last game with the old man had red hair. The director used hair color to express Ki-hoon's will to live to save people, like the person who saved the homeless. And in the ending, Ki-hoon returned to the game to save people. It was fun watching Squid Game together.

i swear, you need to watch All of Us are Dead very soon too because after Squid Game S2, All of Us are Dead will come with the second season also. the #1 sangwoo defender has logged on. they all entered the death games, he was just playing for real. it was pretty obvious there'd only be one winner so you have to commit to doing some horrendous things if you're gonna be there at all. and given he was already going to kill himself before i don't think he had much to lose, his conscious was a price he was willing to pay. and his life, in the end. was he selfish? yeah, but no more than any regular person. it was for his mom. he was also a victim of circumstance, the real villains were those that set the entire game up

@@fisticuffs12I'm with you on this. something I think that's masterful about the series is that you side with Gihun so hard that you miss signs of Sangwoo's regrets and fear of himself. They all knew what they were there for, true. And his philosophy was that to be able to do this - which he knew he had to do - he needed to just shut off. 100% he was planning on going in there with no attachments or anything and then Gihun threw a wrench in it from the very beginning by being there. You can see his horror at that if you rewatch ep 1. You can see his horror in all that he does, if you rewatch with a more objective lens. You can see that even as he's standing over Sebyeok, he's in shock and his hand is shaking. Never forget that the villains are the wealthy who are taking advantage of all those in unfavorable situations. They were all victims here.

I watched it when it first came out three years ago so it was awesome to rewatch with you and refresh my memory before S2 drops! Just a little suggestion for better KZbin performance, since the reactions are edited, maybe you could space out S2 reactions to give people time to watch it (I intend to binge-watch but not everyone is doing this) - that way people can come back and see your reactions after they had a chance to watch the full episode, which might help with engagement! I think this is the case for all the new shows that just came out, for older shows people already had time to watch them and become curious about the reactions, and that's one of the reasons why there are more views and engagement. Also, I'm really excited to see you react to Alice in Borderland sometime in the future! Super hyped

Like you said : Sangwoo could have just let her bleed out and suffer, well Going could have just let the old man win fairly as well. It's not because he felt remorse that he didn't still do it... I feel like Sangwoo was just more down to Earth, more realistic. A little bit too much of an a**hole, but still, he made more sense. Gihun was only being very naive throughout, like he was not responsible for his own situation to turn bad...

Y’all I have a WILD theory I just thought of!! Peep how that bank dude called him a VIP. Maybe that was the old man’s attempt at nudging him to use the money and because he refused that is why old man invited him to talk. My main thing is how that bank guy calling him a VIP made me think of the other VIPs…what if they are past winners?? You can see how far back this goes and they did several games in each year. The probability of there being winners who are willing to participate in this is not hard to believe for me.

Knowing how selfish Sang Woo is, he prolly thought that if they quit the games they would get nothing and everything he did would be for nothing but those who were killed would get the money instead so he just resorted to that decision to end his own life and have Gi-Hun as the winner (who he probably calculated that would take care of his mom out of the goodness of his heart) rather than letting the deceased players take the money. In the end all he thinks about is himself he's that greedy and nothing will change my view of him I hate him that much lol there's no redemption for him
