I feel over-prepared already lol I am only 31 weeks, and having a home birth, but i have already started packing my emergency hospital bags, my nursery is pretty much done, and I have ordered 90% of my home birth kit and postpartum stuff!

That is so awesome! Is this your first? I'm 25 weeks and have slowly been working on things...no home birth for this 40y/o first time momma though but we are days away from possibly hiring a doula who IS allowed in the hospital....THANK GOODNESS

Oh my goodness, here I am, 15-16 weeks pregnant with my fourth and I’m already beyond excited to have this baby 😂 Trying to plan my first homebirth and I am stoked!!! I absolutely love watching your videos! I love how you cover every birth outcome. (Hosp. Birth center, or homebirth) It’s nice to find that.

I’m trying to educate myself as much as I can on my own before I graduate so I’ve just been watching your channel a lot and when you said that depends are comfortable my first thought was “no they’re not” I used to be a bed wetter and I’ve stopped but occasionally have accidents and typically every period I’ll have an accident so my Mom got me some and I do not like them because they always end it clumped up.
@CajunStork4 жыл бұрын
More comfortable than those bulky gigantic postpartum pads, haha
@randomghostonthisapp53704 жыл бұрын
@@CajunStork You do have a point on that one, I watched my Mom’s last four natural births and saw what comes in the process of that and every time I cried, but learning about midwifery had changed my perception on pregnancy and labor and postpartum because of how much better it can be and like you said it makes better birth experiences.

@@randomghostonthisapp5370 my sister is getting a product like Depends...if that's not the brand because her friends and sister wife all wore them post partum. I've never worn one so I couldn't say but I would think it might help if there are lots of various things leaking all the time so you can rest better. For me it'll be worth giving it a try and if it doesn't work then trying something else.
@randomghostonthisapp53704 жыл бұрын
@@weldonservicegroup6962 I think it’s also a personal preference I also can’t say the feeling of wearing them postpartum because I’ve never had a kid but they do work I just hate the feeling of them.

This might seem silly but...can you do a video on how to go about using a midwife meaning the process. Do you find the midwife then find out if your insurance covers it or do you contact the insurance first? Do you go to an OB first or do we skip them and head straight to the midwife?...I haven’t found any videos that covers this. Thanks for all the information so far!
@genesisperez11584 жыл бұрын
Greetings! I currently have a midwife and I just looked in my midwife website to see what insurance plans they work with. If for any reason your insurance doesn’t cover a midwife/birth center your midwife will work with you on financial options. If you already know you want to have a birth center birth than you don’t need to go to a ob.
@CajunStork4 жыл бұрын
It depends on your state regulations. Here in Louisiana, clients confirm they are pregnant once with an OB and then transfer to midwifery care as their primary for the remainder of their pregnancy
@stroutbrookhomestead81014 жыл бұрын
I went to an OB for the first 11 weeks of my pregnancy, then switched to a midwife. I have interviewed many midwives in my area (Southern Maine), and discovered that midwives don't usually directly bill your insurance, and you'll most likely have to pay out of pocket (around here the average price is between $2500-$3500 due by 37 weeks). However, they have all mentioned something about possible reimbursement through insurance after the birth, depending on your individual plan. None of them guarantee anything though. Hope this helps!
