I've been making cakes for family and friends for a few years and made load but this part always takes me the longest as I spend ages looking and going back round it trying to get it perfectly smooth. Just make sure once the sides are straight enough go all around once so you can get the smooth side hope that makes sense 🙈

Hi, you have to make sure that the cake has been firm and placed in the fridge for atleast an hour to transfer it without damaging the cake hope that helps! 🥰

I was a chef for over 30 years & a pastry & cake chef too.. Cakes have really come along way from the days when I made cakes... I have just watched this video & found it to be quite complicated..... I will have to see if I can come up with an easier way to decorate a butter cream cake with Cronco...

Thanks for this!! I struggle with scraping, I find after doing the crumb coat and the second layer, when I scrape the second layer it sort of sticks and drags the buttercream, it doesn’t glide. I’ve got a metal scraper but still...any tips? Xx

You’re pressing too hard by the sounds of it, also crumb coat should be solid before you do 2nd coat x

Hi you shouldn’t place the cake in the fridge for your second layer and it should glide off make sure your cream isn’t to stiff aswell hope that helps!
