KZbin is a good place. I found Guy Michelmore's channel to be pretty useful for getting theory stuff. Beware, he mainly does orchestral stuff. Just search, basic music theory in youtube and you will find adequate stuff. The only thing is, don't rely on one source, as some might say wrong stuff. Watch as many content as possible

1. The irritating sound might be because its clipping. Lower the volume and see. It could also be because your PC is overloading, which I think is the case. Try optimizing Windows. 2. Make sure you have Melodyne addon installed. Otherwise, I'm not sure how you can fix it. Test it out with shorter audio. 3. Initial production inspiration was two youtubers - Vories and Andrew Huang. Musical inspiration is Seven Lions, Au5, Virtual Riot, Mike Shinoda, DeadMau5 and so on....

Thanks..! Unfortunately, I don't think I'm good enough at Mixing and Mastering to make a video on it. Search for mixing and mastering tutorials. It does not have to be Cakewalk. You can translate anything you see into Cakewalk mixing console. The channel "In the Mix" is a pretty good start.

I would never suggest FL Studio for a beginner. It has a unique workflow which cannot be transferred to any other DAW. If you start with it, you might get locked in it. Cakewalk, REAPER, Ableton, Bitwig, Cubase, Studio One, and all have very similar layout and idea. Also, before buying any DAW, try their demos first. Costs nothing & you can decide which one is for you.

The assistant does not work. It will dl one or more of components selected, then after waiting an hour or so, they're auto deleted and it returns back to the install window. After going thru that bs cycle 3 times and wasting 3 hrs, I checked the community forum and they provided a working link to dl these things. That worked. Heads up for ppl trying to download this as of 10/21

Lower version of Core i5 7th Gen 2 GB Radeon Graphics 12 GB RAM 500 GB SSD (this is what actually makes it fast) 1 TB HDD The processor makes it an average config. Its quite weak during video editing. Add to it, going for the 720p screen was the worst decision I ever made in life. Everything looks big & can't contain all the stuff I wanna see during production

It seems like Melodyne is seen as an installed application by the system. It has to be uninstalled. Seeing that you were able to reinstall the other plugins, I am assuming that you already attempted to uninstall Melodyne. In that case, I suspect it should be removed from the registry. Look it up. This is only a guess. Be careful while dealing with registry. It can mess up the system if you delete anything that shouldn't be deleted.

Sometimes the Sound Card might have its dedicated driver which becomes available in the list. Otherwise WASAPI shared or ASIO

Hi, and thank you so much for making these videos. I recorded my singing with Cakewalk some 15 years ago. Now I have a different laptop so I downloaded the free basic version of Cakewalk but I can't figure out how to keep adding singing on top of something I already recorded. I only want to record my voice. In short - I wish to record myself singing. Then again press RECORD and add more singing and again and again. I don't know what I'm doing wrong because I every time I try to do that, it deletes the original singing and replaces it with the new instead of adding more layers. Could I please ask you to refer me to a tutorial video where you explain it or would you please let me know where to activate that particular function? It's the trial version. I haven't used Melodyne as how it is suppose to be. However, it won't trigger the time count down unless you try to use it. Otherwise it will keep working as "Melodyne Player". CbB also gets some features because of the presence of Melodyne (like Audio to MIDI conversion). PS - Mine is not updated for 2 years. It is very likely to be different now

Probably during the installation, the template files location might not have been set right. Search .cwt in your file browser. The location of those files should be set as the template folder location in preference of Cakewalk.

There are no issues. I just prefer installing my softwares in D drive to avoid filling up C drive which holds Windows in it. Thats the way I have partitioned my hard disk. If you only have C drive, then install CbB there

In preferences click display section under Customization. The last option says 'Base octave for pitches'. I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, 'cus when you lower it, the upper octave also lowers.

I don't recommend uninstalling with the intention of reinstalling. I did that and it made the install button in Bandlab Assistant disappear and I could only fix it by finding out how to do a clean install of Cakewalk - it made the install button reappear. Before I found the info I was really frightened and it made me think I couldn't ever install Cakewalk again. It was horrific.

I just found your series on Cakewalk. Well done, clear and concise. It is helping me find and learn what I want to know.
