Hi sweetie! This was absolutely beautiful. I’m a huge Stevie Wonder fan & this song is in my top 5 of his. Loved Cakra’s version & as always, your reaction to it. It’s been awhile since I requested u do a reaction & I know u get tons of them. But you MUST, and I do mean MUST react to Snarky Puppy feat. Lalah Hathaway “Something”. The Family Dinner version NOT the Groundup one. Your mind will be blown!! Usually I don’t give spoilers on a recommendation, however I want you to fully understand what’s going on with this one. Since you’re young & despite your sister introducing you to R&B, u may not know who Lalah (pronounced Lay-luh) or Snarky Puppy are. Lalah is the daughter of American R&B royalty Donny Hathaway R.I.P., who sings my fav Xmas song “This Christmas”, and is known worldwide for his rendition of “A Song For You”, among many others. Lalah can sing 2 or more chords at the same time, usually called polyphonic or overtone singing. She however does not call it either, just says it’s a thing she discovered at the age of 12 or 13 her instrument could do. She further says she went to a doctor who put a camera down her throat & she watched her vocal chords while she did it & says while most vocal chords vibrate together when u sing the tones, parts of her chords stay together & other parts move. Not only have I never heard anyone do it before but I didn’t know it existed. But she does it in the video. As far as Snarky Puppy, it is a jazz fusion collaborative elite group of musicians, founded by an incredibly gifted bass player named Michael League. He is the one at the end of the video who says “Lalah Hathaway ladies and gentlemen!”Started out with a core group of 10 members, which has evolved over the years into a “supergroup” of 40 revolving musicians, depending on where they’re playing in the world. They are by far one of the best bands, if not the best, I’ve ever heard. Their performance of “Something” with Lalah earned them both a Grammy. It is INCREDIBLE & not to be missed!! Starts out jazzy & smoky then turns into pure FUNK. To quote you “Oh my goodness me!” Lolol. You will be thanking me forever! I understand you’re very busy with 2 YT channels now & life in general so I understand if u may not be able to get to it right away, but I’m telling you, it’s a must. Not only will you be experiencing something extremely rare but u will also be sharing it with all your subscribers & others who never heard of it either. Also, when u have a moment I left a rather lengthy (u know me lol) comment on your Life Update Post. It has some info re: your future husband u need to know. 😂 Just wanted to add here that he also has done several AJ reactions! Just saying! Hahahahaha. Oh and his name is Luke.
