Back in the 80s, when I was in my prime, the Seattle night scene had great nightclubs, bars, and pubs where you could go listen to live music every night of the week. The Scarlet Tree featured R&B, and a singer named Sam Smith would stand there in his porkpie hat and sing Donny Hathaway songs as beautifully as Donny Hathaway ever did. This song was one he did, and it is one of the most lovely and tender love songs ever written. Now Cakra Khan, who has become my favorite modern day male singer, gives it his own, more raw interpretation. I am glad that this great song still is reaching younger people today and that you love it as much as I did. I enjoyed seeing how moved you were. Cakra's newest video is Let You Break My Heart Again. I love it, but he sounds very smooth and smokey instead of his usual raspiness. I hope you react to it soon.

Cakra has an amazing voice, not gonna lie. I know HOW much you love him, Adrianna, but for me he doesn't QUITE reach my inner feelings. And I have absolutely NO clue why that is. It's just one of those things that you can't quite grasp. Because his voice ??? Holy Moly. It is just perfection. It COULD be because I'm male, but both Jack Savoretti and Sir Archer penetrated deeper into my soul today somehow. Strange, right ?
