This is a really nice option. So much light and air flow!

Hey Chris! What is that dark coloring on the terrace walls and on the eaves (check 1:10 into the video)? Are the homeowner's responsible for painting and addressing that or is the HOA responsible? Is it mold? I've seen this on lots of property ads, but am not sure what it is. Thanks. 🙂

Hi! That is discoloration due to humidity. When it rains, the water runs down the walls and makes a stain. I am not sure if it is mold or moss. Our builder says that you can get coping for the walls that runs the water away from the walls to avoid this. or you can just tile it or put stone cladding. It is an unfortunate fact of life where it is moist like Calabria.

@@SuperSavvyTravelersLLC Ok, that's what I thought it was. But the homeowner is responsible for the outside maintenance of their apartment, like stucco, painting and eaves? Just wondering how it works there.

Balconies and whatnot, yes and depending on the HOA roof might be your responsibility as well. If that is the case, you can, many times put up a roof terrace as well. Each individual building or complex has different rules.

@@SuperSavvyTravelersLLC Oh wow, thanks for sharing that. The ability to possibly put up a roof terrace sounds great!🙂
