Hi, I follow the channel and I love your videos. I made some vases and I don't have a vibrating machine, just hitting the mold it leaves no bubbles on the surface and inside but there are some at the bottom, so my doubt would be if the vibrating machine can eliminate these bubbles.
@calafiacandleco Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Gabrielle! The vibrating machine definitely is not necessary. For me, it just speeds up the amount of time I spend tapping and bouncing. Even when using the vibrating machine, I can still get some bubbles here and there.

I looked first on your Amazon storefront and didn't see them there, so then I tried searching Amazon. Would you mind sharing the link? I was wondering if you have to sand these containers? They don't look as sharp on the bottom as some I have seen.
@calafiacandleco2 жыл бұрын
I do just a quick swipe on the bottoms with a sanding block after unmolding. I try to be very carfeful with pouring not to spill over the top. If you overfill, sometimes even after sanding it still leaves some sharp spots.

It is just so cool. Than you for the video, you do amazing work! May I ask you… You mentioned you wait until the molds are not warm. Are you editing hot destiny water or why they should be warm? Sorry, maybe it is just stupid question but I just didn’t get it. I tried something from cement and I had to wait all day before I could take them out. Am I doing something wrong? 🤔 😁
@calafiacandleco2 жыл бұрын
No stupid questions here! The chemical reaction between the concrete and water causes the mixture to get hot. Depending on what concrete you use, the waiting time will differ.

Hello thanks for the great video. I was wondering, I saw another person who soaked their concrete vessels in water for 24 hours after they made them. I was wondering what is the purpose for that & is it absolutely necessary
@calafiacandleco2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for watching :). I don’t water bathe, and don’t find it necessary. I know some people do like to do it, so I think it’s just preference. For the product I use (cement-all), it’s not necessary. The only scenario I would consider doing it is to make planter pots. Water bathing will leech out the lime in the concrete, which can affect soil in plants.

Thanks so much for watching! If you don't seal the outside like me, then no it will stain. If you do seal the outside, it should be able to wipe off. I pour very carefully and won't move to the next vessel until the last drip has dropped or I wipe off the spout on the pitcher.
