Very helpful. They casted mine 20 years ago, with 7 broken pieces. Still suffer, worse lately. Recently bought a brace from Walgreens and has helped me some. Still sux.....

3 years ago severly comminuted mine .plate and 7 screws .can walk but still limp and one foots bigger than the other

I had it 4 years ago now, I walk fine but have problems on lumpy ground and use ankle support as a precaution.

I had mine done 10 years ago. Yes with uneven ground and don’t even dare to roll it as the pain is intense.

I had the same surgery 9 months back , plate and 10 screws. It really hurts ......worst bone to break

And how is your heal can you walk correct or went back to work ??? I got my surgery on august 26 2020 but still with pain I fall off from a 12 foot ladder at work

It is done the same still swelling and numbness on foot, normal walking not possible however may heel in an year.

I shattered both of my heel bones four years ago. I stepped off a 40ft bridge (stress from education), I remember feeling my heels just explode to bits. Then I had subtalar fusions in both feet. I kinda wish I'd had this surgery instead because this dosent fuse up your joints. This just fixes the bone back together all be it metal inside your body. It dosent fuse up your joints - I just wish I could have the subtalar joints back again.

I just had this surgery on July 15th, I fell off of my roof at home with my backpack blower on my back and shattered my heel in 10 pieces. I just got my cast off about 10 days ago and am wearing a compression sock with an aircast. I should get the all-clear to put weight on my foot again on October 1st. Hoping someday I will be able to walk normally and get back to the things I love doing. I can't imagine shattering both heels, I truly feel for you and wish you the best ❤

Fell off extension ladder, last member. Had operation in Jan, 2024 . Three screws and metal plate inserted in right foot. One year later still hurting. Doctor said it was a 9 out of 10 for severity. Makes it hard to get around.
