Best Big Trout Day Ever was on Lake Calcasieu back in my younger days. Water was beautiful, throwing slow-slinking Mirrrolures. Watched this 8 Lbs miss my lure about 12' from the boat. Watch! Watch! I said. Twtich Twich Stop Twich BAM !!!! How cool so see that big ole Yellow Mouth engulf my lure. I'll never forget that day. 4-6 lb'ers. That big one was 8.

I went out 2 times this week. Got some 38" wed. white gulp mullet and live croakers. See you out there.

Trout hang out under the ladyfish... use a heavier jighead to get down to the trout faster.

Went out there a week ago and got a 38 in gar and a few tiny black drum but no lady fish lol I was on the bank

Maybe a dumb question but whats the purpose of tagging trout? New out here just curious.

It’s part of the TAG Louisiana program and it’s mainly for research. Only redfish, speckled trout and red snapper are tagged. Here’s from the official website; The two main objectives of TAG Louisiana are: (1) to establish a sound marine sport fish tag and recapture program utilizing a diverse cooperative program specifically designed to employ and educate anglers, and (2) to improve our understanding of marine sport fish movements, patterns of habitat use and population dynamics.
