You really do understand what makes these games special. Not everyone does. I think Jak represents a passion, creativity, & bold experimentalism that triple-A gaming has slowly but surely lost over the decades in the west & in Europe. It’s one of those “lightning in a bottle” things that only comes once under the right circumstances, & deserves to be preserved ~ & The OpenGoal project & collector’s edition memorabilia do one heck of a job to that. ~ (let’s hope someone comes along and starts a similar project for a certain sly & cunning ringtail.)

I've heard murmurings of a similar project for Sly, but the catch there is that they're recreating the PS2 build instead of porting it.

It's good to see you back! As for Jak II, I still remember having fun with this game, even with all of its difficulty spikes and lack of checkpoints. Though I still have yet to finish this game, even on the HD Collection on PS3. Just another game I have to get around to finish from my ever-still growing backlog.

Hey man, fantastic video as always. Great to see you back, and uploading. Quality is top notch as per usual. 🙏

Very good video! I love Jak2 getting some recognition it deserves! I know this game is very divise amongst fans, but I've always loved it to death. I feel like the contrast between the happy-go-lucky style of the first game and the dark style of the sequel is exactly what makes it so great.

Awesome, I kept looking up your channel here and then wondering when you’d put up a new video, it’s great to see you come back. And you came back by uploading a video on one of my all-time favorite direct sequels, nice.

Yeah! I was right in the community post! I know those pointy ears anywhere. As a kid I loved Jak 2 and thought it was easily the better of the first 2 games. Nowadays I've come to appreciate the first one a lot more (Jak 2 is still super impressive and bitchin though) as well as lot of first installments in game series. For me as a kid Jak 2 ended at blow up ammo at fortress. That mission seemed impossible and besides it was more fun to just drive around the city.

You were not only dead-on, but also quick with it! We'll have to see if you can keep it up the next time I do one of those.

I was also 5 when this game came out and (5:55) I had no clue that this was Keira. I was legitimately surprised for the reveal.

I really wish i had the chance to grow up with Jak and Daxter like I did with Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank. Because as an adult pushing 30, I really didn't have the patience for Jak 2's difficulty spikes. And I got really far into the game too. It was one of the zoomer races around the city late in the game that caused me to rage quit. Had a blast with Jak 3 though, and the 1st Jak and Daxter is now one of my favorite 3D platformers.

Easily my favorite game in the Jak and Daxter trilogy. If I had to rank each game, it's like this: 1. Jak II 2. Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy 3: Jak 3 I never played the PSP Daxter game since I never owned a PSP so I've no opinion on it (wish Sony would port it to PS4 and 5 though), but I digress. My second favorite weapon in the game is definitely the Scatter Gun because it's good in crowds of one-hit enemies and knocking enemies off ledges if need be. I've been meaning to play Precursor Legacy and Jak II through OpenGOAL, but currently I don't have an External DVD Drive for my PC to make the ISO files, that might change soon, I'll update when that happens. Update: 10/28/24: I've played Daxter now, and I'd rank it higher than Jak 3 personally.
