I know this is late, but I noticed there were SEVERAL of you that didn't understand Mr. Post's Step 4. I am right along with you. Seeing that he didn't answer any of the other posts, I took it upon myself to look it up and figure it out. Thought I would share because I know there will be others that are just as confused. Okay, so on step 4 we are also solving for the inverse, or antilog of 10x -11.6 (or maybe just 11.6) Still just a little confused....sigh... Hope this helps. Follow these steps. I have a TI30XIIS scientific calculator and solved it in this manner. 1. Press (2nd) 2. Press (Log) 3. Press (-) 4. Press 11.6 5. Press " ) " to close the parenthesis. 6. Press (=) or (Enter) That gives you the inverse or antilog of -11.6 which gives you 2.51 x10-12. The number of H+.

Dear SciencePost: You have to emphasize that those Equations/Formulas are only valid IF and ONLY IF the Temperature is 25-degrees Celsius / Room Temperature, and those equations are not valid if the temperature of Water or Aqueous Solutions is not at 25 Celcius. Thanks for the Video, Sir !

Hi, I was just wondering about your answer for [OH-] in the question "Calculate the pOH, [H+] and the [OH-] of a HCl solution with a pH of 3.2?" What I was wondering about, because I am taught to be very specific, is your final answer to [OH-], which you got as 1.58x10^-11 which shouldn't it have been 1.587301587x10^-11 => 1.59x10^-11 (3sf) ?

+C grig Try using the EE function. Click the Alpha button and look for the blue letters above one of your buttons that says EE and EE serves as a better way of using the ^ sign for exponents.
