When I first stumbled across this machine as a kid, I had no idea of what The Twilight Zone was and assumed it was based off a movie or tv show revolving around Serling as a private investor who dealt with various supernatural threats and paranormal phenomena.

There used to be an old mini-golf place really near to my house, and they had one of these machines. I'd often go just to play pinball and not even play mini golf. It's been closed for years now but it looks like they're renovating it and preparing to reopen. I doubt they'll have another Twilight Zone, but I can hope they'll at least have a pinball machine or two.

+Don:Ellis Music There is one at the Factory Pizzeria in my area it's a good machine it's just not in very good shape the machine is uneven so it tilts easily and the sound cuts out

The pity with Twilight Zone as a table is that it's a wonderful table and has excellent gameplay, but it is extremely finely tuned and becomes incredibly difficult to make progress on if any parts begin to fail, more so than other tables out there. That and its high complexity to start with meant it did not do very well when it was released - sure it sold lots of tables but most of that was off of the back of Addams Family - it didn't bring in great revenue and was a maintenance nightmare. Still the pinball I'd love to own more than any other however!

Funniest thing: this is my #1 table of all-time to play. I thought I knew EVERYTHING about it. I've been playing it for years...and, today, I'm listening to my 80's channel and Golden Earring's "Twilight Zone" starts. The bridge portion of the song plays and I'm like, "This sounds familiar..." and I realize it's from the game. Then I realize that the game's creators used the bridge riff as the table music. You learn something new each day, it turns out.

it's MIDI. Once upon a time, most all videogames and the more advanced pinball games used it for music.

I think this was one of the last (if not the last) games Williams/Bally did before switching to the more advanced DCS sound system.

@@nikkidavis5313 It's not even MIDI! The composers at Williams at the time programmed the music themselves, all in assembly I believe. It allowed them to do a lot of stuff that wouldn't have been possible with just MIDI.

It’s likely contained on a ROM on the cabinet, and he’s used software to get into that ROM.

@@samtinkle9076 I actually used PinMAME to get into the machine's sound test menu and played the sounds from there, which I recorded using Audacity.
