Politics ruined our beloved ,'Paris of asia' our great Kolkata city.britishers build and beautify this city we bengalees blaming hating eachother just ruined this city.

Don't see the objective of this video, somehow the video seems to have a negative connotation, typical of western films & media regarding India during that time. Also in 1970s, Calcutta was trying to overcome a lot of infrastructure problems - dealing with mass migration of refugees from Bangladesh, expansion of East Calcutta Wetlands & Salt Lake area, construction of metro underground, construction of the 2nd Hooghly (Vidyasagar) Bridge,...just showing poverty of India to westerners doesnt always work. You need to keep in mind the factors and underlying prevalent situation during that time. So the video just doesnt make justice to its title of "Doomed city". Many cities in other countries during that time were also similar / worse off.

One of the greatest cities in the world. Despite providing food , shelter and opportunities to millions across generations has always been subjected to humiliation and ridicule. Time to express gratitude.
