The sports media needs to stop comparing every rookie QB to Peyton Manning rookie year.
@scottrowlandrowland10986 сағат бұрын
I kind of thought the same thing, they are cherry picking the one example of a guy who wasn’t good in the beginning and then became an all time great. I do think Caleb has the mind and skill to figure it out but he shouldn’t be compared to manning until we see progress.

I wouldn’t say it’s comparing. It’s just getting at the idea that bad rookie season is not 1 to 1 correlated with bad career. Like nobody thinks he’s gonna be Peyton BECAUSE he’s been bad like Peyton was, the argument is just “hey let’s just wait and see”

The funny part is it makes perfect sense. Every year Jordan or LeBron were in the league in their prime they were the most valuable player. But they weren’t the mvp

An open letter to FTF. I started watching this show because of Nick Wright. I thought he very a very entertaining, analytical, and honest voice that was getting smothered and suppressed in those early years by hot take artists. With the new line up, he really thrived as an equal voice to his colleagues. Over the last two years however, Nick has been one a caricature of the few strong opinions that got him ahead. Instead of being an insightful analyst that bolsters the standard/humdrum takes with charm and charisma. He has chosen to kick those takes completely and marry his whole brand to be one of the most extreme opinion or nothing. He has become a person who doesn't care if he's wrong, he just wants to be the only one right. When everyone agrees chiefs are great, he has to differentiate by 20 and 0, when everyone knows Caleb is a great talent in a great situation, he has to go with Superbowl as the floor. It's been the same pattern for his opinions on Wiggins, Jokic, Purdy, Allen, Lamar, etc. I would call him a born contrarian but this is not the character that bought him to the forefront of sports media. He has simply pivoted his brand to that of the negative extremist. Skip Bayless did this with his LeBron takes and make a career of it. Nick, if you review your work - just look at how you talk about Purdy and the negative lense in which you approach that mans existence, then look at the prince, Caleb, and mahomes and the positive lense you approach their body of work. Marry those two and we will have the person that used to develop analysis from a neutral view. This version of you is exhausting. We can hear it in Brous voice debating you, it's not pleasant to challenge and certainly not pleasant to hear. Troll farming is prevalent enough online, you don't need to be a "troll" or the laughing stock or the punching bag for FTF fans. This group is amazing and you've gone from the best of them to dragging them down. Bring the old nick Wright back

Caleb didn't live up to the hype and expectations most sports debaters put in place. Nick said blame him for being wrong for saying Chicago was going to be in the SB. Why did Nick say Chicago was going to the SB? Well it was the expectations and generational talent label he and others put on Caleb. All I hear is Caleb hasn't been throwing Ints. Yes he hasn't. Could that be the product of a basic, safe offensive scheme?

It's funny right near the end of the season They stopped talking about how great Josh Allen has been and all the records he broke. It's just really interesting because he came back from a losing game and won it? Patrick mahomes is barely won by two or three points almost every game
@scottrowlandrowland10986 сағат бұрын
I don’t know what you’re getting at. Josh Allen is already one of if not the best talents we’ve ever seen but all these best numbers in the first 7 years is not a good measurement. Mahomes only played 1 game his rookie year and still is breaking records. Allen doesn’t have the coach mahomes does but there’s no argument for Allen over mahomes. 2020 the chiefs embarrassed Allen, 2021 mahomes put up better stats against buffalos number 1 defense vs Allen scorching a bottom 5 defense without tyrann mathieu, 2022 Allen got trounced by Cincinnati who kc beat and that year, 2023 the chiefs we’re just about up 2 scores until Hardman fumbles. Then Allen misses a checkdown on a game winning drive and leaves it up to their shaky kicker that would have only tied it, mahomes would have drove down for a game winning fg anyways. If Allen had a better coach it might be closer to 50/50 but that’s not the story that has been written. Mahomes is the ultimate winner, Josh Allen is the second best and it’s not by a wide margin. Josh has more physical talent but mahomes is just more savvy and better at winning. I’d be surprised if for one Allen and mahomes don’t play in the afc championship one, two that mahomes and Reid don’t out perform in the last 5 min of the game. If buffalo end up pulling it off I won’t be totally disappointed but seeing kc make history is hard to root against.
