The 2024 NFL Draft is just under 48 hours away and the Chicago Bears are on the clock. While on "The Pivot" podcast, USC QB Caleb Williams was asked what he hopes to achieve. He said quote: “I want to play at one place for 20 years, and chase one guy - No. 12. “I want a place that loves ball. That’s all I’ve heard about Chicago so far." Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, LeSean McCoy and James Jones react to Williams' comments, then reflect on their expectations for the QB in Year 1.

@Johnny5Scratcher Күн бұрын
@psychkosys the fact that he plays for the bears has nothing to do with the odds being against him. The current regime was not there for 150 years. He is the first QB that this regime has drafted. The odds are against him based on the fact that only 5 have ever done it as a rookie. BUT all 5 of those rookies have done it in the past 12 years. So with that being said, the odds do get a little better if recent QBs are starting to do it more often. That's how odds breakdown. You can't just use the past for current odds because everything is different.

With this Bears slightly improved defense that was nearly the best in the last half of this last season and a significantly improved offense and the rest of the draft.... This is what we expect from the Bears and Williams. So that we have the minimum expectations and the "too high" expectations. 4000-5000 yards passing, 30-40 TDs, 10-13 wins, a playoff berth - NFC Championship game appearance. Cam Newton, Justin Herbert did the best on paper. CJ Stroud maybe the best full season rookie QB playoff run. ( I know Purdy had one too but😏.) We've never seen a generational rookie QB join an NFL team "this good on paper." If he translates to the NFL and plays all 17 games based on his college game average that's almost 300 yards a game and 2.5 TDs a game = 5000 yards and 40 TD's. I think he's intelligent enough to process the NFL game. It's about the matchups. Will his receivers be open and the offensive line give him time to pass? These are luxuries that most rookie quarterbacks getting drafted early in the draft don't get with the team they join. Then a proven defense! I don't see any reason why Caleb Williams doesn't put on the best rookie performance and numbers we have ever seen in the history of the NFL!

Everyone is missing the point that the bears passing game this year is going to depend upon this incredibly quiet but "swifty" RB room. 😅 Thats the reason why we gotta address Left Tackle and Center in the draft. Period.

I predict 3,700 yards , 32 TD's 22 interceptions . Rookies usually throw a lot of interceptions . That would be a good 1st season for him .

This is ridiculous. If Caleb throws for 4000 yards with the bears roster it would be ridiculous not to make the playoffs. On paper the bears literally have a top 5 team. There are very few teams that have a roster like the bears. The chiefs won the superbowl and they don’t have a better roster than the bears, they just have a solid roster with the best QB in the league

Maybe I'm missing something. I don't see Caleb williams as a better qb prospect coming out of college than Trevor Lawrence or Joe Burrow. I think he is going to be a really good player, especially with the weapons they already have in Chicago.

Agree with Joy and Shady...no, it's not the same game. If that was true, then every QB that is drafted would be awesome. And it's not true. Regardless what you did in college, the "PROS" is very very different. If he lives up to some folks expectations he will be great. But rookie season is always an adjustment. I don't care who you are, it's an adjustment.

A division 2 QB in Tyson Bagent won 2 games with the Bears. Caleb Williams will look amazing if he plays average for bears QB play. Saying the bears are far behind the packers and lions is crazy considering we got so much better and they didn’t and we owned the lions 2x last year. Don’t sleep…

Welcome the social media aware Z-Gen to the NFL. Having an untried rookie declare he's chasing TB12 is nothing but another bullet of their marketing strategy. CW and his PR staff play the mainstream media and the SM like a fiddle, and the more outrageous his statements, the better. Before having played one snap, CW will be the hottest NFL topic until september: lots of clicks, hence lots of endorsements. For those who enjoy the game, tune off the noise and look forward to see what CW can deliver.
