I am not criticizing dimash.. but I have heard some people complain about his upper 5th octave mixed belts and say his mix voice is not much resonant and he just strains and squeaks in mix above G#5. What do you think about it? Because personally I find no issues but still could you give a clarification on that part.

right, Dimash is unique, he has created his own style in music like no other, it makes it unique ... imitating him does not make sense, because we have no chance for him ... I think each of us is unique in his own way ... let's be ourselves !!! Caleb Coles, he is an experienced musician, he analyzes very well ... he is fair, he is not jealous of him ... I like to listen to him, especially his opinions.

@@CalebColesMusic You stated it just fine. I really appreciate your interpretation. It reminded me of your explanation for Marc Martel having similar physiologic structures in his airways and sinuses, etc. I noticed he even withdraws his lower lip like Freddy Mercury did. Fascinating! I guess we need to be a doppelganger to really mimic sounds of these singers. There's still only one of them and one of each of us. Makes me appreciate that more.

When people say great singers are born not made its true in one important sense. Could you theoretically through hard work and technical learning approach the skill and ability of Dimash ? Yes possibly. What he has that very, very few posses is a timbre and tonal quality that I believe is what many identify as the "thing" that they identify as a born singer. This is an anatomical component that each individual possesses, the structure of the mouth and throat, vocal cords, resonating chambers etc... Great job giving people the road map to take inflict from Dimash without being completely intimidated.

Instead, you feel inspired and motivated to improve your own singing. Dimash would be so happy. That is exactly his goal in life! He said in a recent interview that he is going to get his PhD and he then wants to teach (he is currently working on his Master’s degree in composition). To sing like Dimash, you first have to study for 20 years and still have a vocal coach. You can pretend to sing like Dimash but right now no one is singing like Dimash. Plus with Dimash, I believe there’s also genetics. He was born with a talent that you can’t just develop by practice. 😊

Orange Trees I wasn’t critiquing Caleb, I was stating facts. There’s a lot that goes into Dimash’s voice and style of singing. With a voice like Dimash’s most singers would have been out there singing for the public like crazy. He waited, trained, and studied before singing in public. I’m sure there’s a lot of his mother’s operatic genes in him, because of the way he hits those high notes without strain. They call it falsetto but for Dimash, that’s his natural voice. There’s no strain to hit those notes. You have to be born with that. No amount of practice in the world is going to get you there. You can kinda sing like Dimash but right now there’s only one. 😊

He's only 24, so I doubt he's even studied it for 20 years, it's clearly talent, research and alot of work. I wonder if he does speech singing technique to get his wonderful range or whether he has a different method

The Free Range Duck Dimash is from Kazakhstan and they start their children early, studying music. Dimash started studying classical music at the age of 5. He is 26 years old. He has finished his masters degree in music and is working on his doctorate. The pandemic has slowed him down. He was supposed to come to America to do an internship studying jazz and other styles of music. Dimash still has a trainer that he works with. Pavarotti had a trainer that he studied with until he died in his 70’s. Pavarotti is one of Dimash’s idols. This is what Dimash has that a lot of people don’t have and that he’s studied music for several years, all kinds of music. He was offered a job to sing opera but he did not want to just sing opera. He had other styles in mind. He is a composer, director, producer which gives him a big head start on most singers. He works hard on his music. What makes Dimash special is that in spite having all of his talent, he’s still a very humble and caring young man. We can’t say that about all of the singers out there. 😊❤️

You made a great general point about emotion. One of my favorite Dimash songs is Love is Like a Dream. And yes he does have what I call the “angel intermission” and the big note at the end. But even if the song didn’t have those moments, I would still be totally pulled into the story he is telling because of the emotion in his performance.

You talk about the technical side - the contrast - the low and the high But singing like Dimash, Or as excited as Dimash, You have to talk about the spiritual side. I saw a very good singer's show - singing beautifully the high and the low His sounds at SOS were almost perfect But he didn't take me to where Dimash takes me In poetry and music - the soul speaks. and probably a soul like Dimash, has only Dimash.

I love opera! its great , but not to say the music from great singers in the USA to combine this great two styles you can even surpass anyone, I am not saying this talented Dimash is the only one, REMEMBER HE☺ IS ONLY HUMAN. Exercise, follow your coach techniques and you will remember me. Thanks you! 🤫💯

Hi Caleb, yes tecnique is important but most important is TALENT which is the thing that gives "colors" to the tecnique you learn and practice, talent is something that comes directly from your soul and is impossible to "learn" it, I play guitar and I love David Gilmour I can learn every single notes of his solos but I can't play like him nobody can becouse there is only one David Gilmour(only one soul named David Gilmour)

Please do listen & react to Dimash's new song "ACROSS ENDLESS DIMENSIONS". There's only 3 things we need to become Dimash and compete with him : 1. Genetic : cannot be disagreed that genetic is one of the factor to make Dimash like this, his mom is his nature talent came from. 2. Hardwork : this is the most important key to make our voice as instrument and explore the talent. 3. Of course, his very good looking and attitude : once again, genetic plays this role 😄 and parents has role to build his attitude. Without one of those 3 things, we cannot become like Dimash, not even compete with him 😄😄😄

I was the same - it's amazing what a hat can do! Funnily enough, on Dimash's recent IG about Corona virus ("stay at home!"), he was wearing something similar - and looks about 15 years old!🤗

Hello Caleb from an Australian viewer, I just saw a fantastic new video by Dimash by the KZbin channel 100elisimo. I don't know if is from a new Science Fiction movie coming out because it shows clips of one. The title of it is DIMASH ACROSS ENDLESS DIMENSIONS. I'd love it if you could do a reaction to that particular version of the song. The singer does some crazy high notes at the end. It just came out hours ago.

I have no talent for singing or music, so of course - like all disgruntled failures - I put on a critic's hat! Alas, there's nothing to criticize in this video. Good thing it's not my day job. Dimash's extraordinary performances are made possible by his ridiculous mastery of so many techniques, but - as you explained - also by the way he uses his techniques to create drama. Dynamic changes, from barely singing at all through mad belting and everything in between, all of the colors and textures he employs across his extensive range, are his tools. His stage presence also contributes to the drama he creates: the way he uses his eyes, his gestures, his posture and movements. He's acting as well as singing. As a wanna-be critic, I observe that some of this staging isn't always perfect. But sometimes, it darned well is. I felt that his staging for 'Your Love' was awkward and distracted from the lyrics. His staging for 'Love Is Like a Dream' and many of his other songs was perfection. It takes time to plan, practice and deliver the physical choreography for a song, and he's been so prolific... I think he doesn't always invest the time to perfect his staging. But when he does, it's a game-changer. But his stagecraft might not matter very much if he had not already honed the drama in the song itself, his vocalizations for it. He doesn't skimp on that aspect of his craft. So, Caleb, you've just added vocal coaching to your channel. Today's video was a visit to the sausage factory. Anyone who wants to make sausages should pay close attention! Or even people like me, who just want to understand what great singers are doing to create great performances. Today's lesson was a good one. Your core message was spot-on. Nobody should aspire to sound like Dimash; they should instead aspire to be the best version of themselves they can be. Perhaps you should accept online students? A teacher's pay isn't a path to riches, but musicians everywhere are experiencing income losses due to the pandemic, and a fellow has to put food on the table... and you *are* an expert.

I think I will do some more vocal orientated videos in the future if they are helpful to people :) It is something I definitely enjoy so if others do that I'll keep it going. I know what you mean in regards to the drama. I also think Your Love is Like a Dream was staged really well. I personally didn't notice anyting off-putting about the staging in Your Love, but there have been a few staging moments that I have. I personally prefer just to see him sing, close up on him with a centred performance. But that is just me. I may end up doing more teaching in the future, I have taken a break from it at the moment but I could well get back into it :)

@@CalebColesMusic In 'Your Love,' towards the end, do you remember how Dimash turned his back on the audience and did a little skip-dance? That's the worst of it. But in general, there's no connection between his choreography and the lyrics, which are definitely *not* carefree. He did rather too much awkward twisting, too. He reminded me of Jim Carey going overboard to mine humor from physicality. Wrong time, wrong place for it. I only brought up teaching because online vocal coaching can easily be done without risk from the pandemic, and it's a potential income source. Classroom teaching might not be such a good idea right now. I like nuts-and-bolts videos concerning art. Pianists practicing for their next concert and revealing what's hard and what's easy for them, analysis of other singers' performances, methods and techniques, sausage-making. Why? I dunno. Not because I'll ever sing. Unless tastes change, and hoarse moose-call-like singing becomes fashionable. Yeah, probably not. My preferences shouldn't matter. Creators should first please themselves with their creations, y'know? If it's not fun, it's the wrong direction for your art.

@@Urgelt Yeah I know what you mean, although I didn't notice it on first watch because I was too focused on the vocals! Good point, I'm actually thinking through what value I could bring in terms of teaching and utilising the online medium. I have a few ideas but I'll just process them and see if something comes of it. Also sorry for the late reply this one slipped through somehow.

@@CalebColesMusic No apology is required. Content creator engagement is optional - and will be increasingly time-consuming if your comments section continues to expand. At some point it will become irrational to even bother with it. I enjoy interacting with you, but I also wish for your success in this medium. Once you achieve the latter, the former is all but ruled out. I accept that. I'll still enjoy your content and probably leave comments, but expecting responses from increasingly popular KZbinrs is delusional. I try very hard not to be delusional! :-)
