If it hurts, don't do it. Stretching shouldn't be painful, but it is uncomfortable.

In general, therapeutic exercises can be done 2-3 times a day.

I jogged for past 3 days have a pain in my calf now ...I try this stretches for 30 mins slowly and get a relief from this pain..its very helpful for pain relief...thanks to Doctor Jo

I’m not sure what to do it feels tight and I can’t be comfortable in any way or fall asleep cause it doesn’t feel normal like my other leg.

Thats probably because of how your foot is positioned while sleeping.

My night calf cramps went away after I took some daily magnesium supplements. You can consider trying that.

Thanks, Dr. Jo! Your videos help me yet again. My calves have been so tight I could barely walk after taking a long walk the other day (not used to it, but getting there). This helped so much. Still sore, but the tightness is greatly reduced. Thanks for what you do!

Did 5 sets of 20 calf raises and i was not able to walk yesterday this did help in reducing the pain also try the tennis ball rolling massage.. have a speedy recovery.

I slipped on stairs and aggravated my sciatic nerve and heel. Pain and numbness on back of thigh, calf, and foot. The calf and sciatic exercises really help just after a couple days. Thank you!

How often can a person do these exercises, per day, without harm? I plan on doing them all throughout the day, consistently. I noticed immediate blood flow, once I did the belt stretch, and the runners stretch. This must work.

I had both my knees replaced 2019 Now I have plantar fascititis...can I do these exercises? Make videos keeping us in mind ,it will be of great help.

Thank Dr Jo. I pulled a muscle in my calf jumping down and away from a swinging tree branch (disaster relief work after tornado last week.) I am back to walking 30km a day for work and hoped it would go away on its own. Walking is fine but running or elevation changes are painful. 1st time trying the exercises but they seemed to relax and smooth out the knot under my knee. Less pain too. Pullled both calf’s at the same time at wrestling practice six months ago, stayed home injured for a few days and got back after it. My calves are much more prone to soreness, pain, and cramping. I don’t think I’ve fully recovered since, maybe this can help

This really helped me relieve some pain after working out for a leg day at LA fitness using those machine for calves… I couldn’t stand straight this morning until I did the standing stretch

Hello! Thanks Dr. Jo. I was cycling faster the past few weeks and felt a twinge when I was pacing walking backward and forward for a warm up. Do you think if it’s tight stationary cycling should be waited on? If I do I will try it slowly and not push into any pain. I sent an email to my PT and trying some these light stretches while I wait to hear back. I’m doing some self massage, and heat. My calves work a lot with the rehab for my hip labrum tear strengthening my glutes

Hi all, I've been trying to find an insole that, when I wear my high heeled boots, will stop that awful pain in the ball of my foot and ankle. I have tried gel insoles but they don't work. I really like my boots and I want to wear them for longer than an hour without having this pain in my feet. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Whenever I run 5k my upper calf tendon become painful, and I should take 5 days to recover. What can I do for not having these pains during my runs?

I have Metatarsalgia MRI on monday. I can barely walk. so painful..Im thinking maybe I need to calf exercises? would that help? maybe..
