Calf Visinse - Major Firmware Update Coming this October!

Before i pay, i asked about manual ajustments of ISO or other stuff they say this: "The Gen2 camera does not allow for manual adjustments, but it will offer multi-scene modes such as indoor or outdoor environments in a future firmware update. The Gen2 camera was designed to make it easier for customers to use the camera." But looking on footage... i doubt its a software problem... you cant solve some of hardware limitations. The only thing is if they can do improvements on post production or on export footage using AI stuff like Topaz do to get better image quality. IMO It was a dick move from marketing team. Probably, they expect that a lot of users will buy this cheap camera so they can loot more money to go one... Hard to say. So i decided to not bother. IMO they still has a lot of calf 1 already so there is no point to sell same camera by quality but with cheaper price.

Very wise moves on your part, my friend, and I agree... Calf has really revealed themselves to be a pretty shady company. BUT, if you are still interested in this camera, I have put together a workflow that is allowing me to get much better video quality in my final output than what I'm getting straight of camera. Is the professional version a subscription?

That is a great question... the email they sent me is the first time I've heard anything about a "professional version". It seems like they are probably strategizing some way to make back the money they are undoubtedly paying their developers to quickly fix the many problems with this camera. I imagine most people who bought this camera, including myself, will be pretty pissed off if they expect us to pay extra for the camera to behave like it already should. Hopefully, they just meant that there will be a point and shoot mode and also a "professional" mode where you can define your own shooting parameters. Not necessarily a manual mode, but a bit more manual control. We will see.

@WildWonderfulWeekends i think I saw somewhere someone mentioned the early bird buyers will get pro features free (but not sure of forever or for 1 yr) for the camera having these problems right now. I understand businesses have to strategies but I really hate pay wall features. Hopefully it's not the case.

@@WildWonderfulWeekends ??? they are simply making reference to calf gen1. they simply said that they will add in the following firmwares of the calf visinse, features that was available for the calf 1 who is a professional cam compared to visinse who is a point and click average costumer cam.

You do understand that the email you showed in the video doesn't say the new modes and settings are coming in the October update... right? Those new modes and settings are promised only to be in "future firmware updates". All that they have actually promised in that email for the October update is fixing the currently broken OTA one-click upgrade system. They're not even promising 50fps/60fps in there, and that functionality was already promised (and not delivered) for September. CALF are liars and can not be trusted. I bought there garbage camera, when I told them that the noise reduction was not working they responded that the camera does not have any noise reduction, when I provided samples of the faulty audio on my camera they responded that it was caused by their noise reduction and that they would remove the noise reduction in a future update. I have a non-functional camera: video alignment is incorrect, audio recording doesn't work, 50fps/60fps recording (promised on their website) is missing. I have requested to return the faulty camera for a refund 5 times now, and still they have ignored my requests. I had hope for this camera, but now I don't care if they eventually get all of the problems fixed, because they clearly can not be trusted.

I've certainly been disappointed with this camera, and Calf. They have definitely damaged their reputation and after a pretty strong start too, with their first gen camera. Even the KZbinrs who gave this 2nd gen camera glowing reviews are catching heat, deservedly. I plan to keep making videos on the interactions I have with Calf and the updates to the firmware that come down. We'll see where it goes. As for audio, are you using any type of external mic? I realized right away that the audio of the Visinse is nonsense too and started using my Rode ME mic which helped tremendously. Not that we should have to, but it's a workaround. I'm going to make another video this week with more things I'm finding wrong with this camera, including crappy in-camera audio recording. @@WildWonderfulWeekends the audio on my camera is completely useless both with the internal mic and with an external mic. It seems like other people aren't having the same audio problem, so i have to assume that it's a hardware problem with my camera, but the criminals at CALF are trying to claim that it's something they will fix with a software update by removing the noise reduction that the camera either does or doesn't have (depending on which story suits them better at the time). Also, why if other people are not having the same problem would they remove the noise reduction from everyones cameras, especially when they also made it clear that removing the noise reduction would make the internal mic useless because of the fan noise. It's just a garbage camera from a fraudulent company.

@@WildWonderfulWeekends I'll let you know when I get my money back. If I need to wait for my bank to do a chargeback because the the criminals at calf don't refund me, then maybe I'll make a bunch of videos to post here and show people just how garbage this camera and the fraudsters behind it are.
