Just a heads up, grinding the armpit of your shirt into the knurling can have an effect on the life of your shirt, and potentially damage the seams. Use that technique at your own risk.

Great video brother , I have a question, I live in Guyana south America and I am a national powerlifter as well , the thing is I have a super katana but the sleeves are a bit short for my biceps ie, they don't grip the bottom of my biceps as you mentioned in your video , is there any way I can achieve this ( maybe a different katana or a special order ) pls advise cause the $currency in my country is 250times lower than yours lol and it's very expensive to purchase gears that when they arrive here , don't fit as they should , thanks man .

Great tip for warming up is using a RAM or a slingshot between your raw warm up and first set with your shirt. Me for example, pb raw is 175kg, with shirt 285kg. Last warm up raw: 150-165kg (depending on the day) Magnum-RAM: 190kg & 220kg First set with shirt: 240-250kg I find it alot nicer for my hands when I don't have to jump 80-100kgs between 2 sets.

Those side safeties on the combo rack could really smash your hands if you fail a squat badly. I lift with the hooks in, and my safeties can't be used when the rack is in that position. I bought metal boxes to set the weight down on, similar to what Blaine has. Hopefully I never have to use them. I just started with equipped benching, multi-ply, and have been doing boards to work my lockout strength. But I definitely see that the ghost boarding would be a good idea too. Great video as always! :-)

Hey Bryce, I very recently broke my leg and ankle in 4 places not lifting related. I know I have a road to recovery since I have a surgery coming up. Have you ever experienced a traumatic injury like this? If so how did you work through it? I want to stay as active as I can so I know I'll be at the very least trying to do isolation movements since I cant bear any weight on that leg so no more squats or deadlifts for at least 4 months after surgery. Thank you for this series! Just got into equipped not to long ago and there is nothing about how to do anything so I’m glad you are making some videos about this. For benching, do you have women there who have boobs - how do they get into a bench shirt and how does the shirt go on to sit correctly when benching? Also if you feel you can’t touch on a shirt, add more weight? But what if you feel you can’t or is not strong enough and could dump the weight on your stomach/chest?

If you have big jump from raw to the bench shirt 200kg raw to 310kg EQ its good to do some work in slingshot between ;)
@calgarybarbell5 жыл бұрын

Is there any difference between training raw with knee wraps and raw with knee sleeves?
@mcgrawm515 жыл бұрын
Massive difference. The main difference aside from the heavier weight acclimation your body goes through, is the feeling and overall discomfort in being wrapped and then staying in them long enough to do your set. Most lift off-season in sleeves for overall strength growth and then start throwing on wraps for the heavier sets once in a peaking cycle for comp. Like anything equipped, it takes time under tension and practice to become efficient in using the wraps to their potential.
@sleepingtube5 жыл бұрын
Most knee sleeves do not provide any real assistance in knee extension. They are primarily for comfort and prevention of patellar tendonopathy.
@KingPrawn6665 жыл бұрын
@@sleepingtube I feel sleeves can give a bit of assistance. Most people can add another 5-15 kg on the bar with a reasonably fitted pair of proper knee sleeves (not those flimsy, cheap bodybuilding/Crossfit ones).
@martinc44035 жыл бұрын
@@mcgrawm51 When training in knee wraps, should I always wear them for every squat session or have squat sessions without them?
@mcgrawm515 жыл бұрын
@@martinc4403 absolutely have many sessions without them. You should not be training full time with wraps, IMO. I train with them leading into a meet and then hang them up in off season and focus on raw strength work. Also, be sure to research and practice proper knee wrapping. You can do some considerable damage if you attempt a heavy squat and you've wrapped improperly.
@gzeuskraiste5 жыл бұрын
My long armed friend appreciated your tip about sizing up, but it's a bit disappointing that you didn't even mention multi ply shirts, or even anything other than Titan shirts. I get that you probably haven't used them but it's at least worth mentioning that Inzer and Metal both also make IPF approved single ply shirts, that multi ply shirts exist and are legal in other federations, and that open back shirts are a hell of a lot easier to get on.

Hey Bryce! I have a question, how often should I deload? Should I have some sort of scheduled deload or deload only when I'm starting to feel kinda tired and sluggish?
@dariusgoatland105 жыл бұрын
If you're a novice, as soon as you stop progressing on a sessionly linear program. Early intermediates should follow a weekly linear program, & should deload when they can no longer progress from week to week. Intermediates can when they feel gassed if they think they're able to determine that for themselves, or they should have a coach, or follow a well established program designed by a coach or a competitive lifter, to determine when they do. Advanced lifters should deload pretty much whenever they think it's necessary unless their coach vehemently opposes it. They are experienced enough to determine that for themselves. The weight they work with is far too heavy to just "push through" so to speak if they have an off week or two.
