Caliber 3 Precisions First Impressions Mini Review

My first impressions and mini review of the new Precision Caliber Trucks.
Bit of a long one but I was stoked and had a lot to say! Stay tuned for a more detailed/ experienced based review coming soon.

Good point on the kingpin length in relation to coring wheels. We wrestled with that quite a bit.. as you mentioned it’s pro/con balance. Make the kingpin shorter = no ability to run double talls. Make the kingpin long = no ability to core wheels. We figured, given the style of truck, people would be more likely to ride larger wheels and want the ability for full bushing customization, over ability to core wheels. May be something we change down the line if it becomes a common complaint.

The center you mention is probably my favorite thing about them. I've owned Don't Trips, Rogues, and Zealous which all use insert bushings of varying shapes and I liked the shape/feel of the Cal3 insert the most. That really defined center and return to center, giving way to responsive turn. Very much agree with your first impressions.

Yeah I guess I focused on the pivot in this video but the insert for sure contributes to that strong center point too!

Well worth the 30 minute review, definitely going to buy a couple pairs. Ironically I was playing on buying the mk3.5 Valks in March, but might need to watch the full review and see how these two trucks contend.

they are pretty different trucks, I feel like the cals are a more classic feeling truck with a lot of room for adjustments while the valks are much for specific to a certain style of riding so it just depends what you are looking for

I just setup my first downhill board and have been diving into this world a little. I did go with current caliber III on my setup 50 front and 44 rear. With Powell snake wheels. So far, having a good time. Very different from most of the other styles of skating I mess around with. I am super interested in figuring it out. Stay Rad Sir.

well half of this was more first impressions/ vlog vibes. The full review will be a more normal length 10-15 mins. I should have a much better idea of the trucks and be able to describe them in a more informed, concise and effective way.

I dont think there will be a raw version, personally I like the colour options but if you really want them to be raw you could always get them reanodised/sand blasted raw 😂

Yes, you can. However the presicion hangers have less rake than the cast hangers.
