Ford Nugget meets VW 4x4 Tonke September 2021

I always enjoy your videos, seeing your family making the most of life outdoors and today I got a bonus family, with a dog! Enjoying their van too. The Tonke van was great, I loved the kitchen on the hinge so you can also cook outdoors but the Nugget still gets my vote as the best family camper. The Tonke has the same three sliding seats as our Ford Custom campervan and I do love the fact they can be positioned just behind the front seats like a car or pushed right back to open up the internal floor space, very handy because I have three small dogs. I’m looking forward to your comparison of both campervans. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I agree with your thoughts on the Tonke, it is a super van and being able to move the seats in the way you say makes it very versatile. The awninng really made it fun, especially for the kids and also for the adults when the kids were in bed…it was a chilly outside so we kept warm inside…a few night-caps helped too 😂

It looks so beautiful there. It must be wonderful to live so close to the Alps. Did you use a pop top insulation wrap? Does the one from your Cali fit the Nugget?

It is beautiful, thanks for watching! We haven’t got any pop top insulation for the Nugget, although I inowmof at least one company that manufactures a nice internal quilted version. I don’t think the insulating wrap we had for the Cali would fit properly as there is a bigger area of pop top fabric on the Nugget, and we sold it with the van!

What a fantastic sight seeing children being children really love your channel. Can I ask what are those lights you have in the awning: are they solar 👎 or 12v?

Glad you enjoyed it…yes, the lights are powered by the 12v socket mounted above the side loading door. Just a USB / LED / 12v. Thanks for commenting, J

Hi Raymond, yes you heard us correctly…we would prefer the long wheel base high top (as opposed to our SWB Pop-Top). However, what we have now is extremely good indeed and has confirmed in our minds that the Nugget concept is a winner. We ordered the LWB initially, but due to long delays in production, we bought this one until the LWB is delivered, probably Spring 2022. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻😎
