As a seasoned professional who has handled and played many horns, I'm curious to know which model from which company meant the most to you personally or which one was your all-time favorite.

The first company that I ever worked for was CALICCHIO in 1977 through 79 I was a young 23 years old and just starting out a professional career and I thought if I worked at a trumpet company, I would meet trumpet players and I met a lot! My main axe is a three belll, seven pipe, medium large made by Dominik about the same time that I worked there but acquired 40 years later. So I guess the answer to your question is working and playing a Calicchio

Hi, I was watching you play. I suffer form severe lip selling and I cannot pinpoint the cause. I was just about ready to throw in the towel because of it but when I started to explored the TCE embouchure for two days now, I haven't had any issue with the lips choking into me my mouthpiece. the lip swelling seems manageable.. Granted maybe its too early to tell(fingers crosses) but I am saying this because I notice what looks to me like you are playing very similar to the Callet/TCE way? I'm curious if so how would I go about slurring? and is it possible that way of playing puts less stress on the lips? I am asking because In fact I have no trouble doing a spit buzz, but still figuring out how to slur notes, with my tongue anchored. Btw I'm a classical guy I don't play an y jazz, but that's not important, since Bahb Civiletti is an amazing player, one of the best I have hear on Natural horn. anyway I apologize if i was incorrect about how you play. it sound great no matter what. an excellent player!!

Hello My Friend, I don't use the TCE but I do put in a lot of lip into what I'm told is a deep mouthpiece. Maybe try not to play above the staff if possible for a couple of weeks until your lips stop swelling Try the max schlossberg book first couple of pages until your chops simmer down?
